COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mother Funker is a sour blonde ale that has been aged for several years in barrels predominately used for Chardonnay. Mother Funker is a seriously sour beer, perhaps the most sour beer we’ve produced so far. Bursting with citrus, funk, and a hint of white vinegar, Mother Funker is for those who like their sours with more sour.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2012 Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of FrumptyDumpty. Cloudy opaque golden with a tiny, rough white head. Thick, vinegary nose - really heavy on the acetone! Light body, lowish carbonation, very tart and palate cleansing, tons of acetic acid, lemon juice as well. Burns. Nice in small quantities. 280712

Thanks to Blake & Jenny for sharing! Poured cloudy, straw golden with a dusting of white head. The aroma picked up sour vinegar, oak, and apricot skins over paler malts.. all about the sour, and as such, well-presented. The flavor found sour lemon rind and vinegar throughout, with some sour apricot and peach skins joining.. more sour and vinegary on the finish.. sour and funky, as expected. Very sour and funky on the palate.. excellent stuff.

Pours to a glassy light yellow body with a thin white head. The aroma is very sour oak and white wine grapes with a funky light horse blanket. The flavor is fantastically sour with white balsamic vinegar and pears. The palate is ridiculously sour. Very puckeringly sour. Ph1. This is right in my wheelhouse.

Bottle (750 ml). Thanks to the person who brought this at the Hill Farmstead pre-3rd anniversary bottle share. Hazy straw color with a little quickly diminishing white head and no lacing. Aroma is intensely sour with Chardonnay, lemon peel, yeast and vinegar. Taste is slightly sweet and intensely Sour with fruits, Chardonnay, lemon peel and light herbal notes. Medium body. Dry. Mouth puckering. Drinking a whole bottle by yourself could kill you. Fun to try though.

Un monstre d’acidité avec une complexité réduite. J’ai quand même apprécié son profil surette excessif mais heureusement que j’ai partagé.

Bottle with Chris at Ray’s. Pours a hazy yellow with some white head. Nose of lemon, vinegar, oak, some funk. Very tart. Had this right after a Doesjel so it was pretty disappointing.

Pours pale yellow with no head. The nose is lemons, vinegar, barnyard funk and a little medicinal. The taste is massive tart. no balance. The texture is crisp but has an unpleasant burn in the back of the throat from the amount of acid, the body is heavy and finish is long ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lemon citrus concentrate, highly attenuated, vinegar galore. Extremely sour, possibly the most sour commercial beer I've had, and I love it. Highly polarizing, to say the least. Makes a great addition to rhubarb cobbler.

Almost a perfect sour. Funky aroma, acidic flavor without being over bearing. Goes really really well in a B&T with KBS.
