COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mother Funker is a sour blonde ale that has been aged for several years in barrels predominately used for Chardonnay. Mother Funker is a seriously sour beer, perhaps the most sour beer weve produced so far. Bursting with citrus, funk, and a hint of white vinegar, Mother Funker is for those who like their sours with more sour.

Holy Christ this is sour! 25oz bottle. This one has been taunting me in my cellar to drink it, pours out a nice lighter golden yellow hue. Aromas are a smack in the face, in fact my wife could smell it from across the room, powerful lemon zest aromas, screaming acidity, a little funk. Palate is weak only because of how sour and acidic this one is. Fruit is up front then a ripping acid hits the mid and makes you feel like a hole is getting drilled in your stomach. It finishes long with a reverberating cascade of lemon warheads on the way down. Im splitting my bottle between tonight and tomorrow, share this one for sure.

750ml bottle thanks to matboz. Pours flat clear pale golden yellow with no head, a few bubbles. Nose is strong acetic acid and vinegar, nail polish remover, funk, lemon, the nose is pretty off-putting. Taste is sour acidic lemon, vinegar, and maybe some citrus? Hard to taste anything over the acidity. Finish is acetic sour, slight burn, with some bits of earthy hay, one-dimensional. Finished maybe 2oz of this and that was enough.

Bottle, 75cl, from trade with Papsoe. Its a lightly unclear beer, golden in color and topped by a minimal sized white head. Quite funky, sourish aroma with nail polish remover, lemon, vinegar and fruityness in the aroma. Lemony, vinegarish flavor with lots of generic fruityness. Dry on the palate, soft carbonation and dry. Some vinous hints too, both initially and in the end. Ok, so its a good one, but it would certainly do better in a much smaller bottle. Or you could of course share with four or five friends. 131026

Bottle. Hazy yellow pour with a ring of white bubbles on the edges of the glass. Aroma is over the top vinegar with tart, lemon, and perhaps some like cheese rind funk. Taste intense, puckering sour with vinegar and white wine and grinding tart/sour into the finish. Light, almost watery mouthfeel. Over the top, imbalanced.

RBSG 2013. some haze in the yellow color. Vinegar and lightly sweet malt. It is sour, for an American sour beer.
