Our spin on an American-style barley wine, and we we say "our spin", we mean itís super hoppy. Dry hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and Sterling hops, a real piney and citrusy flavor shines through the dark, caramelly malt backbone. Some may think of it as more of a double IPA than a barley wine, we just think its delicious.

Caramel brown in color... Aroma is fairly hoppy, sweet malts... Flavor is extremely hoppy for a barleywine... Citrus hops up front, caramel sweetness with bitter hops on the finish... Almost an ipa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 06/19/2013.Pours dark mahogany with light tan creamy head, dies to a pillow of foam on the surface, lacing left behind. Aroma is dark caramel toffee and red fruits with resinous pine, sugary tangerine hop character. Taste is similar, up front dark caramel melding with brown sugar, citrus and pine, moderately bitter finish not over the top. Thick body, fairly balanced for what it is, very drinkable. Nice.

Poured into a perfect pint. 3.5 A: Moderately hazed deep amber color. Three fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is good for the ABV and some spotty lacing is left. 4.0 S: Holy piss is this hoppy. No way I would identify this as a Bruery beer if smelled blind. Hops are foremost floral and herbal. Some citrus and earthiness to follow. Underneath there is a solidly toasty backbone with plenty of caramel and toffee. Light dark fruitiness to round things out. 3.5 T: Interesting. Itís not bad, but it has trouble finding its place. Itís not hoppy enough to be a DIPA, but itís not malty enough to be a BW. Itís not even a hoppy barleywine or a malty DIPA. Itís somewhere between those two. Mild to moderate bitterness. Toasty malts, caramel, toffee, and maybe a touch of molasses. Dark fruits, raisins, and a touch of tobacco. Floral hops with light herbal and citrusy components. Again, itís decent, but it confuses the palate and not in a good way. 4.0 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Decently creamy, a bit chewy, and smooth enough. Booze is well hidden. 3.0 D: I think I summed this up already. Good, but confused. Serving type: bottle 11-30-2012 03:54:48

5/15/13. 750 from t0rin0, I think? Hazy amber pour with a small khaki head. Rich sugar aroma, light hop, some grainy bitterness, paper, and a touch of caramel and light fruits/blondie bars. Not bad!
