COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our spin on an American-style barley wine, and we we say "our spin", we mean it’s super hoppy. Dry hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and Sterling hops, a real piney and citrusy flavor shines through the dark, caramelly malt backbone. Some may think of it as more of a double IPA than a barley wine, we just think its delicious.

750mL bottle. Poured clear, rich garnet with a towering, sticky cap of beige head. The aroma picked up juicy, delicious hops upfront (orange, floral, and pine notes above all else), with raisins, cane sugar, and bready sweetness beneath.. the hops worked hardest, and they worked well with the malt bill. The flavor opened with oily orange and pine bitterness that coated the tongue with bitterness.. molasses, drawn caramel, and crusty bread at the core.. grainy sweetness and resiny bitterness on the long, well-balanced finish. Heavier-bodied and fairly well carbonated on the palate.. coating and bitter.. alcohol was held in check.. this was a solid brew, but by the end, the malts just weren’t greatly interesting. I’d gladly drink it again.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a deep, dark brown with orange hues. Aroma is very toasted malt, brown sugar, piny and citrus hops. Flavor is much the same. Mouthfeel is very heavy body with medium carbonation. Overall, good shit!

Bottle… Murky light brown ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma offers a melange of caramel, dark fruits, tropical fruits and earthy hops. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. The flavor furnishes caramel, toffee and toasted malts balanced by a very nice raw lupulin component. The finish is rich and warm, leaning neither bitter nor sweet. Bottle courtesy of giarcsr!

Sampled on 8/6/2011. This Barley Wine pours a medium reddish amber color from a 750ml bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with nice lacing and long lasting retention. The aroma is caramel, fruity, sweet, bready, raisins and citrus. A medium to full bodied Barley Wine. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Nice carbonation. Somewhere between a Barley Wine, Double IPA and a American Strong Ale. It has aspects of all three. A lot more hoppiness in the taste than the aroma. Nicely balanced. Hides the alcohol well. But there is a touch of alcohol hotness/bite at the finish. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, yet there is some sweetness.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a reddish-amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of toffee and a lot of dark fruit and some alcohol. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of brown sugar and toffee and caramel malt. The hops are also present in the flavor and contribute some grassy and piney notes. The alcohol is present but the beer is still easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

bottle... dark brown, murky not crisp, light tan head good, not great looking but good retention... the nose is really nice, smells like a classic barley wine but done really nice, some nice molasses with a great hop finish, classic... the taste doesn’t come through as nice, disappointed, way to hoppy and the hops are a touch generic, not malt at all, bitter finish... good start but didn’t finish... this grows on me after awhile

750ml bottle thanks to exiled. Deep clear orange brew with some nice white head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, and pine hops - very malt forward. Taste is bitter with lots of caramel malt with sticky citrus and pine hops. ABV more apparent as it warms.
