Snicklefritz is a citrusy, spiced, oaked Golden Strong Ale originally developed and homebrewed by Kyle Manns. It is spiced with cardomom, ginger, juniper berries and coriander, along with fresh lemon, orange, grapefruit and tangerine zests. After fermentation, the already complex concoction was aged on oak cubes to add one more layer of flavor. We’ve production brewed it at The Bruery.
Original batch was 9.2% ABV. The newest release (bottled as a Provisions Series beer) is 10% ABV.

I really hate to be a dick but I just don’t get it. All of their beers taste the same. Sweet and sugary and bland with plenty of off flavors. Tickers keep tickin’ but I’ll pass from now on. Pours amber with a big white head and good lace. Smells sweet and caramelly malty, sugary. Tastes the same. Bland and sweet with some dishwater and a hint of booze. Med body, subdued carbonation.

( 12oz handbottle thanks to Bman1113VR) Pours clear yellow with no head, and minimal lacing. Nose of spices, tart fruit. Taste of apples, heat from the alcohol and a linger of spices, apples, and alcohol.

Tap at BoHo in Hollywood. Pours hazy orange with a short lived white head. Aroma is malty, spicy, yeasty and slight alcohol. Flavor is malty sweet, caramel, apricot, some spice - coriander and orange peel and again slight alcohol and some oak in the finish. Medium body and quite sweet, not my favorite from the Bruery.

Courtesy of BMan11113VR. Hazy golden color with a fleeting head. Nice malty sweet n’ spicy aromas. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Clove coriander orange zest, spicy oak flavors on a hefty wheat malty base. Tasty brew.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2009 Draft at san diego toronado: pours a slightly hazed golden pumpkin with little to no lasting head. Nose was predominantly yeasty with fruity notes of apricot, papaya, and peach. The flavors were so yeasty and spicy that I almost died. Banana-like yeast with gigantic spice everywhere...I should have asked saul for the pineapple express...but no, he gave me the snicklefritz by default, maybe he’s got some percoset. So, fruit juice, yeast, and spices...that’s what this is all about. Drink with caution.

Hand bottle from bman1113vr. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Nose has lots going on, including bitter orange peel, clove, yeast, apricot jam, and other citrus notes. Some banana flavors, bitter orange and apple cider, clove and corriander, with a dry, oaky finish. This is a really tastey take on the Belgian Strong, and good for the Fall season, even if it was not intended to.

Bottle thanks to Bman1113vr. Pours a hazy gold with white fizzy head. Aroma of mixed citrus. Flavor is very nice, citrus, wheat and a nice tang bite, hides alcohol well. Mouth feel is medium body with fizzy carbonation. Overall, very nice!
