COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages.  We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer.  Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

Tasted on 4/1/13 from a capped 750mL bottle purchased at Sun Devil. Pours clear light orange with a thin white head that quickly disappears altogether. The nose is super sour and funky with tons of lemon acidity, some light bread malt, and a light note of dried pitted fruits. The flavor is quite sour with plenty of lemon acidity, but it really lacks depth, with very little of the malty and fruity notes coming through on the palate, but with an added oaky vanilla note. The body is medium with a nice tannic structure, nearly sparkling carbonation, and a long sour lemon and hint of vanilla oak finish.

Sampled from bottle at Craft Bier Fest Wien Tasting Sessions.
Orange, hazy body, with a big, creamy, off-white head.
Aroma is sour, tart, with funk, sour citrus, sour apples, pears, ripe fruits, sour cherries, barrel notes.
Taste is pretty much the same, with some more subtle sweet malt notes.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes sour, tart, dry, a bit salty, fruity.

Tasty! Greatly balanced, with a dominant sourness, but never too overpowering, like in other Gueuze beers. Complex, with loads of sour fruit notes and very fresh. One of my favourite Gueuze beers I’ve had so far.

750mL bottle poured into a snifter. The aroma is bright citrus and stone fruits with a bit of oak, a hint of a dirty martini, and a light barnyard funk. It’s a murky straw hue with a soapy white head that has moderate retention and very little lace. The beer is medium high sweet, medium sour, and medium light bitter. The texture is oily and thin with a fizzy carbonation and a medium light body with flavors of pineapple, apricot, and lemon zest as well as a dry oak and light herb touch which strengthens at the finish with a olive tartness. There’s a cloying, lingering aftertaste of under ripe fruit, oak, and olives, but overall, it’s refreshing and relatively clean and crisp.

Tap at Hopcat Detroit. From notes 2 months ago. Mostly clear gold pour with a small foamy head that fades to a ring. Aroma is mostly sour lemons and vinegar with some light hay and grass. Tastes very sour without much flavor really. Lemons, grass, and light barnyard. Not nearly enough funkiness to make it stand out. Very acidic too which I don’t generally enjoy.

Found back notes. Shared with Mathieu87 at home. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small unstable white head. NOSE: lactic, sour, fruity, nice. TASTE: lactic, soft, fruity, oak. Glad to drink something from the Bruery that’s not an alcoholic stout and not a weird herb like beer :p

Nicely balanced. Mostly tart citrus notes, but there is some "funk" in there as well that makes for an interesting drink. One of the better commercially available lambics out there... especially from the U.S.!
