Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages.  We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer.  Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy bright amber gold with no head.

Aroma: Peach, lemon, funk, wet basement.

Taste: Spicy tart yeast,lemon/citric acidity, tanins. Fairly sour finish.

Mouthfeel: Puckering. Full bodied. Lively carbonation.

Overall: Pretty tasty, a bit on the acidic side for my gueuze tastes, perhaps I am extra sensitive to that? I wish I had a case to age over 5-6 years, as this beer seems to be perfect for that type of enjoyment. Hopefully this beer is kept in rotation for years to come.

750 ml bottle, 2013 Edition, looks like the bottling date is 09/10/13. Served in a Prairie Teku, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with an inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and there’s a small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like apricots, funk, vinegar, green apples, hay and some lemon peel. The taste is nice too, with apricot, funk, green apple, bready/grainy malt, hay, vinegar, lemon peel, and earthy flavors all noticeable. It’s nice and tart! Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s refreshing and has a good amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, certainly wouldn’t mind buying more of this in the future.

One year old 2013 bottle, pours clear golden with white fizz. Aroma of funk and a little lemony tartness. Nice light vinegar and lemony tart flavor, light Brett with a smooth Belgian golden ale malt, such a delicious beer.

Hazy golden orange pour with a thin white head. This beer was one of the closest beers I have ever had that tasted like a sweet tart. The powder sugar candy sweetness and back palate tartness worked well together with a decent finish.

"This is a beer that I wish i could give half points too...I like it a touch better than the GFAR, which i think is the single year of this 3 year blend (at least it tastes that way). Slightly more complexity in this one, green apple, olives, lemon, oak...yet ANOTHER really nice sour from Orange County. Drank a 750 myself and enjoyed every sip.
