Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages.  We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer.  Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy bright amber gold with no head.

Aroma: Peach, lemon, funk, wet basement.

Taste: Spicy tart yeast,lemon/citric acidity, tanins. Fairly sour finish.

Mouthfeel: Puckering. Full bodied. Lively carbonation.

Overall: Pretty tasty, a bit on the acidic side for my gueuze tastes, perhaps I am extra sensitive to that? I wish I had a case to age over 5-6 years, as this beer seems to be perfect for that type of enjoyment. Hopefully this beer is kept in rotation for years to come.

Bottle. Fantastic. If you don’t believe me, Superspak also gave it a 4.2 and had this to say about it, " 750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/10/2013. Pours slightly hazy bright gold color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart lemon peel, green apple, white wine, vinegar, wet hay, herbal, straw, grass, leather, musty funk, oak, pepper, cracker, light wheat, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big tart lemon peel, green apple, white wine, vinegar, wet hay, herbal, straw, grass, musty funk, leather, oak, pepper, cracker, wheat, and yeast/oak earthiness. Good amount of fruity/vinegar acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon peel, green apple, white wine, vinegar, wet hay, herbal, straw, grass, musty funk, leather, oak, pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great crisp malt/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately acidic, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome gueuze style. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, oak, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on with the balanced acidity. A highly enjoyable offering."

Bottle. Straw in colour, clear, very small white head. In aroma citrus, tart fruits and lots of barnyar. The beer is medium sweet, medium-high sour, light bitter. It has flavours of lemon, apricot, lemon zest with oaky hints as well. Medium to low bodied, fizzy carbonated. In overal very nice beer.

Aroma of tart fruit and citrus. Beautiful deep gold with a hint of amber, white head dissipates quickly. Assertive sourness with apple, peach and apricot flavors up front and a slight oak character on the finish. Excellent beer.

Bomber. Thanks to mike12da. Strong acidic nose, funk and sour fruit, small citurs, and barnyard. Thin apple juice color. Very tart initial, sour apple, tiny pepper notes, strained and condensed sour fruit through the finish. Thin body, some astringency. Very nice hits of sourness. Hits the gueuze notes more or less. Not overly funky.

Sampled from bottle at Craft Bier Fest Wien Tasting Sessions.
Orange, hazy body, with a big, creamy, off-white head.
Aroma is sour, tart, with funk, sour citrus, sour apples, pears, ripe fruits, sour cherries, barrel notes.
Taste is pretty much the same, with some more subtle sweet malt notes.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes sour, tart, dry, a bit salty, fruity.

Tasty! Greatly balanced, with a dominant sourness, but never too overpowering, like in other Gueuze beers. Complex, with loads of sour fruit notes and very fresh. One of my favourite Gueuze beers I’ve had so far.
