COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages. †We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer. †Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

Appearance is murky yellow in color with minimal lacing as the carbonation is nearly non-existent. Strike one for a "gueuze-style ale". Little to no head and zero lacing. Aroma has a bit of citrus, in the form of lemon/lime but this is quickly squashed by the abundance of acetic acid and its dominance on the nose. Taste follows suit. Itís quite tart but not in a complex, funky, traditional gueuze style way, more in a "oops I just squirted vinegar in my mouth" kinda way. Mouthfeel has an unusual oily papery feel. Thatís the best way I can describe it. Nothing about this is "gueuze-style" in any way other than it was a blend of 3 different barrels. This was a drain pour. One of very few in the past several years (the last one was also a Bruery beer). Overall, I was less than impressed with this beer or the price tag it demanded. This is yet another overrated, sad failure of a beer from Bruery. They, as of this writing, will no longer be getting any of my business.

Gold pour, small white head. Fantastic tart barnyard aroma with notes of hay and fruit. Flavor is fantastic. Earth, hay, tart and fruity. Quite like white wine. Crisp.

On tap at Bangers and Lace. Hazy orange color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of funky fruit, apple, oak and yeast. Medium body with flavors of funky citrus, yeast and wood. The finish is moderately sour with a tart apple aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Pour at a tasting. Light straw body. Sourdough aroma. Taste sort of like a granny smith apple.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours hazy lemon yellow with very thin white head. Nose sour, oak, light funk, hint of powder. Taste tart sour up front, then some nice citrus fruits. Late palate some tannin. Tart finish. Would be better with more carbonation.

750 mL bottle with some age on it, opened 11/6/14. Well this just snapped one of my bottle openers, so hopefully itís good. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thin white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of pepper, funk, grapes, plum, hints of caramel. The taste is grapes, caramel, citrus, pepper, funk, wood. Medium bodied, bright lingering tartness. Solid.

750 ml bottle, 2013 Edition, looks like the bottling date is 09/10/13. Served in a Prairie Teku, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with an inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and thereís a small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like apricots, funk, vinegar, green apples, hay and some lemon peel. The taste is nice too, with apricot, funk, green apple, bready/grainy malt, hay, vinegar, lemon peel, and earthy flavors all noticeable. Itís nice and tart! Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís refreshing and has a good amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, certainly wouldnít mind buying more of this in the future.

One year old 2013 bottle, pours clear golden with white fizz. Aroma of funk and a little lemony tartness. Nice light vinegar and lemony tart flavor, light Brett with a smooth Belgian golden ale malt, such a delicious beer.
