COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages.  We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer.  Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

Appearance is murky yellow in color with minimal lacing as the carbonation is nearly non-existent. Strike one for a "gueuze-style ale". Little to no head and zero lacing. Aroma has a bit of citrus, in the form of lemon/lime but this is quickly squashed by the abundance of acetic acid and its dominance on the nose. Taste follows suit. It’s quite tart but not in a complex, funky, traditional gueuze style way, more in a "oops I just squirted vinegar in my mouth" kinda way. Mouthfeel has an unusual oily papery feel. That’s the best way I can describe it. Nothing about this is "gueuze-style" in any way other than it was a blend of 3 different barrels. This was a drain pour. One of very few in the past several years (the last one was also a Bruery beer). Overall, I was less than impressed with this beer or the price tag it demanded. This is yet another overrated, sad failure of a beer from Bruery. They, as of this writing, will no longer be getting any of my business.

Tap at Hopcat Detroit. From notes 2 months ago. Mostly clear gold pour with a small foamy head that fades to a ring. Aroma is mostly sour lemons and vinegar with some light hay and grass. Tastes very sour without much flavor really. Lemons, grass, and light barnyard. Not nearly enough funkiness to make it stand out. Very acidic too which I don’t generally enjoy.

Tap @ blind tiger. Pours a hazy golden orange, no head. Aroma is full of lemon, sweet tarts, green apple, mega funk. Flavor is heavy lacto, Brett, heavy sour, basement funk, apples, lemon lime tart. Med body agro sour, harsh sour finish. I dig.

Found back notes. Shared with Mathieu87 at home. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small unstable white head. NOSE: lactic, sour, fruity, nice. TASTE: lactic, soft, fruity, oak. Glad to drink something from the Bruery that’s not an alcoholic stout and not a weird herb like beer :p

Nicely balanced. Mostly tart citrus notes, but there is some "funk" in there as well that makes for an interesting drink. One of the better commercially available lambics out there... especially from the U.S.!

Pour from a bottle in NYC. Fairly clear gold/orange. Nice apricot, mustiness, and light citrus on the nose, alongside a bigger more cutting lemon funk. Taste gives bright apricot and orange, alongside mustiness, apples, lemon juice, and light funk. Medium to high acidity. Lingering spice, lemon and funk. Nice sharp finish. Very good.
