COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rueuze is our take on the traditional Belgian-style blend of lambics of different ages.  We carefully select a number of oak barrels from our warehouse that have been aging our sour blonde ale. this is one complex beer.  Notes of hay, barnyard funk, apricots, and even olives play wonderfully with the balanced acidity.

Appearance is murky yellow in color with minimal lacing as the carbonation is nearly non-existent. Strike one for a "gueuze-style ale". Little to no head and zero lacing. Aroma has a bit of citrus, in the form of lemon/lime but this is quickly squashed by the abundance of acetic acid and its dominance on the nose. Taste follows suit. It’s quite tart but not in a complex, funky, traditional gueuze style way, more in a "oops I just squirted vinegar in my mouth" kinda way. Mouthfeel has an unusual oily papery feel. That’s the best way I can describe it. Nothing about this is "gueuze-style" in any way other than it was a blend of 3 different barrels. This was a drain pour. One of very few in the past several years (the last one was also a Bruery beer). Overall, I was less than impressed with this beer or the price tag it demanded. This is yet another overrated, sad failure of a beer from Bruery. They, as of this writing, will no longer be getting any of my business.

Tap. Golden with minimal head. Tart with some fruitiness. Peach, pear and lemon. Complex flavors. Only flaw is a slight aftertaste that reminds me of splenda.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a tulip. Clear golden with small off-white head. Aroma is tart, medium body, low carbonation, and pretty good medium-size bubble lacing. Taste is tart, fruity, some cheese, and some funk. Good gueuze.

Bottle pours burnt gold with a whispy white head that quickly fades. Lots of bright fruit and even more funk. Aroma shows lemon, leather, oak, vanilla, and cheese. Flavor is a good mix of citrus, underripe stonefruit, bretty funk, and oak. Overall body is moderate and the finish is dry/acidic.

Pours light orange with a one finger white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of sour fruits, wet hay, vinegar, barnyard funk, goose berries, and apricots. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a medium body with a bone dry, sour, long, lingering finish. Overall, a tasty, complex sour ale.

75 cl bottle vintage 2013 @ tiong. Bottle(?) #00835?3, bottled 26.08.2013
Aroma has leathery apples, orange, strong bretta notes and grapefruit. Also lots of gooseberry bush leaves. Flavour has urinal, citron juice, some urinal tones, grapefruit and orange. Also gastric acid in the background. Not your typical gueuze.

750ml bottle from Bierkompass

2013 vintage, bottled 08/2013(?) - Pours orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of oak, apricot, tart berries, sourness, hints of wood, vanilla and funky yeast. Taste is sour, woody and oaky with notes of apricot, tart berries and lactic notes. Finish is sour and tart with notes of berries, apricot, barnyard and oak. Quite aggressive in its sourness, but not very lambic-like and certainly nowhere near a real gueuze.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light brownish color with a rather small whitish head on there. Nose is very sour with some citrus elements coming off this one. Taste is also quite sour and pretty dry, which makes you pucker. Not heavy on the fruit, which I like.
