1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 julian (30) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2012Appearance is murky yellow in color with minimal lacing as the carbonation is nearly non-existent. Strike one for a "gueuze-style ale". Little to no head and zero lacing. Aroma has a bit of citrus, in the form of lemon/lime but this is quickly squashed by the abundance of acetic acid and its dominance on the nose. Taste follows suit. It’s quite tart but not in a complex, funky, traditional gueuze style way, more in a "oops I just squirted vinegar in my mouth" kinda way. Mouthfeel has an unusual oily papery feel. That’s the best way I can describe it. Nothing about this is "gueuze-style" in any way other than it was a blend of 3 different barrels. This was a drain pour. One of very few in the past several years (the last one was also a Bruery beer). Overall, I was less than impressed with this beer or the price tag it demanded. This is yet another overrated, sad failure of a beer from Bruery. They, as of this writing, will no longer be getting any of my business.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Warped_Silver (11) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Pours straw colored with half a finger of foam that quickly dissipates. Aroma of sour apricot, hay, and mild Brett. Taste is moderately sour, complex, with hints of apricot, oak, floral notes. Did not fast olive as described. Medium body with a tiny bit of sour that lingers. Very drinkable. High on the list of sours.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 adamjackson (1316) - Canaan, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle from Reserve Society shipment. Enjoyed at 50F in a wine glass.
A- Bright hazy orange / gold. Poured flat with a small head forming.
S- I can smell vinegar from 2 feet away. Sigh. It has this faint peach/oak/honey nose that you get from a Gueuze. It really is reminiscent of 3F’s Oude Gueuze but the acetic cider vinegar is pretty apparent.
T- HOLY JOLLY RANCHER. Up front, incredible sour, so simply just a big vinegar bomb but then that fades away revealing a sauvignon like dry grape tannic taste with some oak and grape skins. I get a full peach taste but still too much vinegar for my liking
M- Thin, oily and dry
O- This is no beatification and especially no gueuze but it’s pretty good. I can drink a 75CL bottle of 3F Oude Gueuze by myself. This 75CL bottle is going to take a bit of work. The sour is wearing on me after just a few ounces.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DavoleBomb (1467) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Poured into a tulip.
3.5 A: Well hazed dark yellow color. About one finger of frothy white head. Retention is a touch below average and a short ring of lacing is left.
4.5 S: Like just about all other Bruery sours, the nose on this is full of acid. Lots of acetic and lactic acid. Plenty of funk to go along with the sour though. Musty basement, barn full of hay, dry, dusty wood, and maybe a bit of horse blanket. Lots of lemony fruitiness. At first I thought it was a bit too acetic, but the funk comes through well as this warms up and it turns out to be quite balanced.
3.5 T: Taste is good, but it isn’t as impressive as the nose. Acetic acid forward, with more sourness under that, and another layer of acetic acid. Mild-moderate tangy lactic acid. The funk doesn’t come through as well as in the nose. It might be there, but if it is, it’s hidden under the sourness. Moderate amount of musty funk, but not a lot of complexity. Lemony fruitiness, oak, and a mild tannic astringency. Not bad, but you have to be an acid fan for this one.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation, but low on spritziness. Smooth enough for how acetic it is.
3.0 D: This is another acetic Bruery sour. That’s what it is. I predicted that before I opened it and, of course, I was right. Good enough.
