COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meaning "rye bread" in Danish, we took our inspiration for this beer from the Danes’ staple dark, whole-grain rye bread. Brewed with three types of rye malt, this robust brown ale showcases the earthy, spicy character of the grain, complemented by bready, nutty barley malts and a hint of roast. Loosely based on the Scandinavian Christmas beer or "Julebryg" tradition, this beer is perfect for the colder weather of winter, although it will be available year-round (because who doesn’t love a dark beer now and again, regardless of weather?) And don’t worry about the name, we can’t pronounce it either! But we do have a video of us and a lot of others trying our best at it.

Spicy aroma and a little sweet. Brown to dark red color with a brown head. Medium body. I like what rye does for the flavor - Spicy, a little fruity, and roasted malt flavor. Muted hops. Somewhat dry finish. A lot of expectations and just could have been more intense.

750ml bottle, shared with friends over a game of Catan. Clear dark red / brown color. Minimal white head. Bigger body. Lighter carbonation. Light stickiness. Cool color, but besides that doesn’t look impressive. Interesting aroma.. Belgian candy sugar, rye bread, caramel malt, little chocolate malt, very light spice. Sweet taste. Alcohol not noticeable, but you can guess at it from the bigger, more viscous body. I was hoping for more from this.. Particularly, more rye, less candy sugar, less caramel malt.

Dark red, light brown head. Nose is spicy rye, huge booze, sugar. Reminds me of a homebrew that doesn’t mask its ABV whatsoever. Taste is prune juice, sickeningly sweet and boozy. Medium mouthfeel.
