COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meaning "rye bread" in Danish, we took our inspiration for this beer from the Danes’ staple dark, whole-grain rye bread. Brewed with three types of rye malt, this robust brown ale showcases the earthy, spicy character of the grain, complemented by bready, nutty barley malts and a hint of roast. Loosely based on the Scandinavian Christmas beer or "Julebryg" tradition, this beer is perfect for the colder weather of winter, although it will be available year-round (because who doesn’t love a dark beer now and again, regardless of weather?) And don’t worry about the name, we can’t pronounce it either! But we do have a video of us and a lot of others trying our best at it.

Pours deep red with huge light tan head. Smells of sweet molasses and spices with alcohol. Tastes of molasses, spices, mild orange and lemon flavors. Finishes slowly, with spices and sweetness.

750 ml bottle pour. Pours a dark reddish brown with a temporary cola like head. First things first, I went into this one accepting the risk, because i can’t stand rye bread. That being said, I’m still a little surprised I went for a beer that directly translates to it, but I gotta try them all eventually. Plus these guys have done so little wrong for me in the past. Slightly sour malty aroma up front with almost a wine grape background. Grainy, malty flavor with the obvious rye. A little bit of a sour kick as well, which is nice. Has a bit of a dark fruit flavor bite up front as well, but mellows out well in the finish. I was pleasantly suprised that I ended up liking this beer a lot more than expected. It’s one of those beers for me that just kept getting better as it went. Well hidden alcohol. I enjoyed this.

Bottle. Brown beer. Aroma is sweet and herbal. Taste is very malty, with some rye and sweet spices. Bit of a letdown, considering the Bruery standards.

Cloudy, slightly deep orange tan with a small head. Molasses, some leathery, sour fruit notes, some spice. Mainly sweet taste, some sourness, some very light spiciness. More than medium body, some oiliness, alcohol somewhat present. Quite long finish. Good.

"i don’t know what the difference was in my bottle (i see 6-7’s for feel) but the mf was perfect. luxurious. velvety. as for the rest it was a nice beer. different. muddy brown. smells of doughy malts and rye, with an odd but appealing flavor much the same. a decent beer made quite good by the blend of flavor and feel."

750 ml bottle at home (2012 vintage). Pours murcky dark brown with a long lasting small off-white head with a grey hue. Milk chocolate, nutty aromas with some dust and slight port hints. Medium to round body with a nice level of sweetness, and a steady base of roasty malts. Little smoke in the end. Little alcohol warmth.
