COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than our Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. Perfect for warmer weather and Spring celebrations.

The Bruery really makes some great beers. I haven’t had a bad one yet. Great saison leaning toward German Hefeweizen. Nose is tart apples. Soft palate, well rounded and full of flavor. Excellent excellent beer. Very mild and drinkable. World class.

Pours a bright hazy gold into the glass with a huge rocky white head that I find so attractive in Belgian beers. The nose is filled with spicy, earthy yeast notes and a bit of peach-like fruitiness. Very refreshing first sip in which the carbonation expands in the mouth. Flavors are a bit of grain and then a fruity spicy kick with a slight tartness in the finish. Lingering bitterness stays on the tongue. I love saisons and this one is no exception!

It was a genuinely wonderful beer. I think it may be the best American "saison" I’ve had. The head was a little thick compared to the Saisons I’ve had in the past but it gave it a richness that I really liked. The appearance was typically cloudy with just enough sweetness. The finish was refreshing and not overpowering. It’s a very versatile brew. I would definitely bring it to a dinner party if I didn’t know what was being served.

Everything a Saison/Farmhouse should be. Cloudy golden with thick head. Earthy & refreshing to the palate.

Original review date 3/11/2009... Good to see Patrick’s stuff making the rounds amongst us Massholes finally. I celebrate the arrival by putting this fine effort into my trusty St. Bernie’s chalice... Pours a great citrus honey color - classic Saison look with bluish-thin head and yeast wisps up top. A little cloudiness and ample carbonation at speed of traffic flow. Ooohhh... ...that orange zest, hay & barnyard scent from the mild Brett is combined with lots of soft vanilla sweetness and light yeast electricity. Soft caramel with mild peppercorn spice. The whole is much larger than the sum of its parts, though. Put in some nice pininess to the hops and stewed wheat and warmth and this is really perfect. As I told several people, I wanna bury my nose in this chalice like Tony Montana did with the mountain of coke in "Scarface." This is really fucking outstanding. It all comes together on the palate...the mild Brett funkiness, the yeast and big stewy grain electricity, the soft coriander and orange peel with a tiny hint of ginger, and a softly austere piney hop presence (Styrian Goldings?). Classic Old World with just a bit of new world hoppiness to bridge the frontier. NOW I feel like Chairman Kaga as he snickers after chomping on the bell pepper in the intro to "Iron Chef." Palate feel is also classic Saison...a little funk, quite yeasty and spicy with a little citrus bent. Those piney hops put it all together in Beautiful Chemistry and the finish is the gift that keeps on giving. Classic example of style. I remembered that Patrick & Co. made some fine stuff from last fall’s Belgian Beer Fest but this is insane. Well-crafted, traditional enough to be strictly on point for style but enough of a twist to break new ground. This one floored me and the next day I went out and found a few more bottles. Outstanding.

"Funky fruit aromas with lots of yeast and phenolic scents. Very earthy and there’s a big peppery spiciness. Cloudy golden yellow pour, everlasting 1-1/2" head and a thick coating of lacing. This is what a Saison should look like from beginning to end. Big bitterness (kind of unexpected), very spicy with fizzy carbonation and dry liveliness. Tons of noble hops with lemon zest, honey, wild funk, earthy yeast and a huge pepper push. All in all I gathered the best aspects from a blend of a hopped up Pilsner, fruity Kolsch, wild Belgian Ale (Orval anyone?) and a massively bold Saison. Killer bottle experience."

Beautiful pour and gorgeous snow-white head. Fairly dry which I prefer. This is on my short-list of saisons.

Pours like liquid gold w/ a tall lasting head. Smells wonderful like sweet cream and lemon rind. Medium nectar w/ superb carbonation. This has a defined Belgian IPA style bittering component that cleans and refreshes the palate effortlessly. Lemon rind, mild spice, tropical nectar, funk. The finish is bittered well w/ peach pit strength. It’s only mildy "wild".

This is definitely on the spicy side of the saisons, but I really like it. A good crisp aroma. Nice spice flavor, a very crisp, dry and hoppy finish. The head is nice and creamy.

Bottle. Pale golden color. Pours a huge but steady head. Lemon and leather in the very bretty aroma. Peppery oily hopbitter flavor. Lots of lemon and leather. Brettanomyces are dominating. Totally dry, all malt sugars are used up. Peppery hopbitter finish. Excellent. A world class beer.
