3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
October 2012 dated bottle. lightly hazed golden wheat body with a medium sized white head. pilsner malt aroma with some minor banana esters and some pizza crust sourdough strangeness; little to no brett character evident other than some minor citrus notes that could well be from the sacc strain used. lemon oil, vegetables, malt liquor-esque corn ethanol, bananas and plantains and oregano and pizza crust and tomato paste (I know...)... so thereís some problems with the nose, but underneath the malt has nice expression, and I like the black pepper and the mild tropical fruit esters, but something is off and seems out of place. thankfully it tastes mostly clean. itís lightly sweet with a lingering lemon oiliness and has a enjoyable lightness with soft carbonation, I really dig the mineral quality and some of the esters. if only the malt could be smoothed out a bit, itís a bit too crunchy and grainy for me.

From a bomber. Solid and very interesting, if not especially lovable. Very spicy, funky, moderate body and hops. Peppery.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance:hazy bright gold with a fizzy, bright white head and shimmering lace. Aroma: spicy lemon zest, white pepper, plastic bandaid, dry grass, honey. Taste: slightly bitter and herbal up front, with strong citrus notes over yeasty spice and slightly sweet crackery grains. Finish: bitter with brett funk, slowly giving way to a soft honeyed grain sweetness that increases in every sip as the beer warms. Notes: A perfectly acceptable brett-spiked saison. Not a world beater, but nice.

750ml bottle, shared with friends. Bottled 12/19/12. Mostly clear orange yellow color. Bigger, bubbly white head. Nice lemony, peppery aroma. Decent bits and ropes of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Nice, kind of soft, smooth texture, lightly dry finish. Zesty sweeter taste, light tart, light bitter taste. Nice American saison.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
No bottling information.
Appearance: The body is mildly hazy with an pale straw to amber hue. The head is huge, this pours almost all head and itís dense, holding itís form even when pushing over the lip of the glass. It dissipates very slowly and unevenly.
Aroma: The aroma is of hay, lemon and a blend of herbs, hinting at sage and peppercorn. The strength is moderate, but appropriate for this.
Taste: The intro is mild with lemon, but it progresses to a light tartness with an underlying dry leather. The finish is herbal and peppery, a bit perfume like. This is nice until the finish.
Palate: Soft and a bit watery, but thereís mild carbonation.
Overall: This is likely aged a bit as the Brett has taken hold. Itís not necessarily bad, but itís certainly unbalanced and the finish is mildly abrasive. This would be nice with fish though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Pours a hazy light yellow color with an inch of white head. Quite a bit of lacing too. Mild aroma, but very pleasant for the style. Nice yeast presence, a light citrus/floral balance, and hints of spices. Sour/tart notes emerge in the flavor, along with wheat, light florals, and very light citrus. Clean and refreshing. Nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Unclear orange amber. Large fluffy white head. Aroma is soft and delicate, yeasty, light fruity, citrus, lemon, light funk, touch of spices. Flavor is much the same but a little more forward. Quite hoppy; fair bitterness; appropriately dry. Soft and smooth. Classy.
