750 mL bottle purchased at Total Wine in Chesapeake. Dark orange pour with a huge foamy white head. Bready aromas with a noticeable lemony tartness. Floral hop bitterness and bretty sourness are the most obvious flavors. Certainly tastes like a saison and the brettanomyces really cuts down on the sometimes offensive horseblanket/barnyard characteristics of a typical saison. One of the best saisons with brett I have tried. A very good beer.

Bottle at Sune’s. Cloudy amber - white head. Rye, ryebread, sweetness, fruity, sticky body, licorice, bretty notes, anis, piney.

Bottle at Sune. Hazy golden coloured with a huge white head. Fruity aroma of spices and yeast with notes of berries. Fruity flavour of spices and yeast with notes of liquorice and alcohol. Spicy finish.

Poured from 750 ml vessel, compliments of Sir DrBayern (Mahalo Matt), a cloudy dark straw colour. Aroma pungent of barnyard goodness, bretts most evident. The flavour was of lemony herbage, as malty hops resonate through the carbonation. Really great brew.

Nice honey amber colored liquid with hints of copper. Massive, thick head of white foam. Fantastic retention and thick clumpy lacing. Big funky esters hit me in the face. I can tell that there are some cloves and light fruit notes in there, but man are they hard to get to. Very yeasty with a touch of earthiness. Little bits of lemon and some white pepper. Big, butterey and yeasty profile. A nice sweet maltiness that was not really in the nose. Definite pepperey spice mixed with cloves and corriander. Light hints of citrus fruits and dry hops. Those funky, fruity esters. Nice and creamy. Smooth and easy to drink. Good medium body. This would be a special occasion kind of beer, for me. I could drink it, just not that often. The esters and the hops combine forces against my pallette, and I must retreat. A good saison, just not my favorite.

750mL bottle. Pours a rather hazy, medium tannish-brown color; huge off-white, foamy head with excellent retention and lacing; enormous amounts of head here; gorgeous pour. The aroma’s a bit disappointing here: some light esters and candy-necklace / sweet-tart notes, but underwhelming; a bit o’ lime. I didn’t realize this saison was 8.5%... Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dense, underdeveloped sugars, assertive rye notes, and rather light ester profile; sharp carbonation, solid acidity, this seems to almost cut at the tongue; lots of bubbles; certainly way heavier than a saison should ever be, this drinks like a heavily (over) carbonated, underdeveloped belgian strong ale; not without pleasures, but over-the-top, rough upfront, and just plain messy presentation. Long finish of basic sugar, light pepper notes, warming rye and brown sugar. Way below the Saison de Lente, which was lovely.

Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a light copper color with a medium whispy off-white head which leaves a few solid streaks of lacing. Aroma is light citrus, orange zest, some belgian funk, and Bret. Taste is your typical solid Saison affair with a nice citrus kick which makes it flow very well. One of my favorite Saisons!

Pous a hazy cloudy light golden color with medium thick white head. Aroma is of light citrus notes, slight musty yeasty, and light malt character. Taste is light citrus, light barnyard funk, some musty yeast, and light notes of light malt. Finish is pretty well carbonated with the effervescence being ever so bubbly. Finishes sweet with a funky finish showcasing the brett. First The Bruery beer and definitely love it!
