Aroma is spicy, fruity and a little alcohol. Flavor is complex, apples, pears, spice from the yeast, and some alcohol. Light, highly carbonated and a dry finish. A slight alcohol bite but over all very nice. I’d like to try one with some age when the Brett character comes out a little more. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA

The rye gives it a rich earthy flavor and the Belgian yeast gives it a wonderful wildness. Even though it’s brewed in SoCal, it takes you back to the farmhouse style of Europe. Rich orange in color. Just a really top notch beer. Did not expect to like this one as much as I did. Snojerk321 (1945), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2008 Bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a fizzy off white head. Nose was a little funky with some banana, citrus fruits, and yeast. Flavor was slightly tart then finished sweet. Good spice and Brett presence on the palate as well. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA

Sample from a bottle shared by me, thanks to Hophead22 for the trade. Cloudy yellow, slight haze with a puffy white head supported by lots of visible carbonation. Sticky lacing. Funky brett aroma, wild, citrusy, lemon zest, spicy rye malt. Taste is more spicy rye, sweet citrus zest and a finishing dry funkiness. MartinT (5050), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

This well-levelled Saison-style Ale produces plenty of spicy rye cereal traits upon which bloom piney brettanomyces wilderness and authentic farmhouse character.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A fluffy head of foam covers the cloudy orange.
-Carbonation is very expansive; this needs to breathe a bit or else the beer wants to come through your nose...
-This is extraordinarily drinkable for an 8.5% brew.
-The body is quite lean, the hoppiness is leafy and spicy, and the flavor profile is relatively straightforward; yes, this is an authentic Saison.
