3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served from 750ml, in Berkeley (apt). Pours a hazy golden hay. Forms an offwhite rocky head, very very carbonated. Aroma is subtle farmhouse, with a hint of light malt. Palate has a very pleasurable livelyness, with a slightly creamy texture. Taste is simple and refreshing - a nice light sweetness, subtle sourness to balance the farmhouse flavour.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: To my surprise, I did not have a recorded rating for this. I feel like I’ve definitely had it before... but maybe not? Rustic amber, light-copper hybrid color; muddled & unfiltered with a fluffy, lasting white head on top. Aroma smells more like a "lighter" dubbel than a typical saison. Metallic caramel & stale toffee, plum, dark fruit esters, peppery spice, some cotton-y must, & a touch of sweet apple. Somewhere in there, I occasionally get a whiff of funky parmesan cheese rind, too. Taste is also more sweet than you’d expect a saison to be. Borderline sticky toffee & caramel, moderately stale with some toasted bread, apple, plum, yeast, perfume, & a spicy, potpourri-like finish. Lingering sweet-ish toffee notes, & a little bit of sharp yeast. This isn’t much of a saison, it’s more like a dubbel that was spiked with a little Brett. Saison de Lente blows this away.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours light orange-amber with a nice, thick, white head that maintains. Aroma of sweet/sour, spicy yeast, and rye, very nice. Flavor is well balanced, medium sweet, medium sour, and light bitter. The 8.5% abv is well hidden. Refreshing, yet full bodied and flavorful. Medium to soft carbonation, sticky and creamy texture, Highly recommended.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
De bons arômes lactique, de banane. Une belle couleur blond dorée et légèrement trouble. En bouche un côté acidulé rafraîchissant et sur le céréale. Une bouche perlé et une belle mousse. En bref une saison... Parfaite...

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice aroma, highlighting malt and yeast. It pours hazy and has a nice amber color with a rich frothy head. It has a very balanced flavor for a beer fermented with Brett yeast: medium sweetness with medium bitterness and not as sour as you might expect. Bitter aftertaste with sour notes that lingers in your palate. Overall, this is an excellent take on classic style.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gold pour. Complex aroma with brett, rye, oak, funk. The taste adds more sweet fruit and is slightly less sour than I imagined. Still very crisp and clean. Like the spice from the rye.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a clear deep gold with two fingers of foamy white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim and spotty lacing. Nose is subtle: light brett notes, pale malt, spicy rye, earthy, citrusy hops. Taste is complex, citrus and spice with a just a little brett and rye sourness. Carbonation remains high and fizzy, giving it a light mouthfeel.
Civilised and balanced - but perhaps a touch too civilised. The nose, in particular, is a touch too restrained. The flavour builds and deepens, with a mild alcohol warming, but the nose remains mild, with few indications of what’s to come. The flavour is balanced, sure, but it’s a bit out of sync with the nose - I’d like a little more emphasis there.
