The head is off-white, copious, and reemerging with the repour and sticking around awhile. The nose is candi sugary malt, solid funky female gymnast feety, with spicy florals, coriander, and hops. The taste is malty, candi sugary, full bodied, with a nice balance of floral, yeasty spicy, and funky taste sensations. The balance is very good, and the complexity is above what I expected. The Bruery has impressed me so far, and this is a flagship brew for them. I’d probably buy the White Orchard first and this second. I dare say this one ranks up there with the solid French, Belgian, German, and Swiss saisons, although I crave more Bretty, female feety horse blanket. Pump up the funk, as Young DMC tragically sang right before he had a cap popped in his ass, and this one would shoot into the stratosphere. As it stands, it is an outstanding saison. I thought this stuff rocked...great big flavor, totally tasty but hard to pinpoint...citrus, full bodied, not too malty or hoppy or spicy; dry and funky light saison brett stuff and really great flavors overall. I liked this more than the White or Black Orchid (both of which were very good). SoLan (1432), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Courtesy ChzMan. Burnt orange/hazy gold. Large, rocky, white head. Earthy, rustic, crisp and lightly sweet malt, barn funk, bitter hops, grainy rye. Medium body, well carbonated yet soft. Very dry finish is yeasty and a little funky. Excellent saison. The brett needs more time, but its tasting great right now anyway. puzzl (2661), New York, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Bottle, drank on christmas. Nice pour, huge head, like the best Belgians. Horsey, rich, nice fruity esters, a touch salty maybe. Great spices and Belgian yeast character. An extremely solid saison, one of the best American interpretations Ive had. This is crazy good. Should be saison ruLeS.
Nice spicy coriander with citrus (not bitter peel, just citrus). Cracker malts, yeasty, rye and brett alike taking a back sea (though the brett comes into focus as I reach the more sediment heavy parts of the 750 ml bottle). Super beer near-fresh; I’d love to try this at two years plus. BeerBelcher (945), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Solid. This is the best sour beer I’ve had in quite awhile, and although the craft beer scene has been a bit of "Brettanomyces Gone Wild" over the past 18 months or so, I am still into it. And while this beer didn’t really strike me as funkly, and wasn’t a poster-child for Brett, it was sour and quite enjoyable.
It poured a hazy copper color with lively carbonation and a thick head. Aroma was dried fruit, rye-ness, sweetness, and some light sourness. Something akin to lemonade was in there too. Flavor was more of the same, with some citrus-ness and sour (that lemonade thing again), balanced with some nice bread-iness imparted by the rye and malt. Mouthfeel was a little puckery, but was generally pretty refreshing given all the flavor packed in there. In OH at least, the price on this beer is steep and the hype is over-the-top. However, this beer is quite pleasant and while I won’t be kicking back a bottle of this weekly, I am glad I had it.
Definitely recommended. xmarcnolanx (808), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA

Aroma is slightly sour- acidic, funky, yeasty, lemon. Yum.
Taste is slightly licorice, yeasty, alcoholic, oak, and funk.
This beer is a lot bigger than expected by the aroma.
I really want to like the taste, but I can’t. The taste ruins this for me. So hot!
Funky, peppery, alcoholic, dry.

Pours a slighlty hazed orange brown with a sudsy slightly off-white airy frothy bubbly head brett helped head. Aroma of sweet juicy candied pineapple, strong brett notes, touch of meaty salami, light sour cream butter milk. Flavor follows, super juicy, very boozy but it works somehow, a bit tangy metallic but that also works somehow, lots of pineapple, guava, interestingly complex but seemingly clean, some yeastiness lingers underneath along with fresh French vanilla bean ice cream. Medium.light bodied, ever so slightly creamy, bright feeling ,boozy but nice, crisp popping carbonation. Love it, reminds me a bit of Hitachino’s Celebration.
