COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison Rue is an unfiltered, bottle conditioned, Belgian/French-style farmhouse ale. This is a beer of subtlety and complexity, with malted rye, spicy, fruity yeast notes, biscuit-like malt backbone and a slight citrus hop character. With age, this beer will dry out and will become more complex with rustic notes of leather and earth from the contribution of a wild yeast strain. Being a saison, Saison Rue is ambiguous unto itself as it is a different beer when fresh and when aged.

750 ML bottle purchased at BevMo in Redding, CA. THE POUR / APPEARANCE: Pours a cloudy medium light golden color, very fluffy white head that has excellent retention- good sign. AROMA / BOUQUET: Definitive Brett, with a very slight hint of sweet caramel maltiness. Grassy, bready, yeasty- very much in the Saison style. TASTE: Astringent, tart, refreshing. Proper sourness with a tart aftertaste. PALATE: This Saison floats over your tongue, a certain bubbly, creaminess to it. OVERALL: This Saison can easily satisfy the most discerning Belgian drinker. Praise and blessing to The Bruery!

Cloudy and golden with a thin foam. Citrusy and musty nose and first taste with a tingly mouthfeel. Good cereal / biscuit malt taste. Finishes with a pleasant acidic tartness. Good combination of rye and yeast.

Clear dark amber pour with a big white head. Aroma is dusty brett funk, spice, and lemon. Taste follows the nose with some additional earthiness and breadiness. Dry finish.

This bottled brew from a beer bar poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent golden orange colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was floral and musty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering mild vinous hop aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of mild citrus mildly vinous floral crisp and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

(Bruery Terreux Saison Rue) Bottle 750 ml as The Bruery Saison Rue, bought from De Molen bottleshop a couple of years ago. Served into a teku, ABV 8.5% Deep orange colour on the body, mostly clear, with good activity in it. Tall biut frothy off-white head, with average retention. Aroma has light malts, old wood, light citrus, kind of medicinal alcohol, yeasty notes, light pepper. Nice taste, mostly sweet I’d say, with malts, floral notes, apricot, wood, alcohol. Medium thin body with good carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottle. Moderate bread and cereal for the malt, light lemon for the hops, moderate dough and musty for the yeast, with notes of banana, white wine and vinegar in the background. Head is large, frothy, white with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is murky orange/amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy with a lively carbonation and a tart finish. This beer has all the Saison qualities you’d expect but there’s a subtle savory side as well. Top notch stuff.

Lasting white foamy head atop a clear copper coloured body. Nose of yeast, spice and lemongrass. Tasty lemony front with yeasty dry finish. Good stuff.

Picked this up because it was sour and was from california. Solid beer overall though i feel like rye and bertancomyces clash together.

Bottle from misterburd -- cheers! I waited on this one about six months to let it develop. Disappointing: the brett and rye don’t assert themselves much, and despite all of the complicated tasting notes this just tasted like kinda random, malty homebrew.
