COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
French for "without a paddle", Sans Pagaie is our take on a Belgian Kriek. We added an incredible amount of cherries (whole and pureed) to this sour blonde ale and then we decided to add more. The result is a well balanced fruited sour ale, perfect on itís own, even better with a slice of chocolate cake. 5.8% ABV, Cellerable for up to 3 years.
Note: this is a different beer than the limited Bruery Sour Cherry Kriek

If you like tart. Welcome. Orange hue on a no head but not flat Kriek. Huge wonderful sour cherry flavor. If I had a sugar cube it'd be a sour patch kid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. 2014 Edition bottled on 4/7/2014, 6% ABV. Murky reddish orange with 1.5 fingers of off-white head that fades fairly quickly. Aromas of tart cherries, cherry juice, oak, vinegar, funk. Tastes of juicy tart cherries, spices, a little herb, big mouth puckering sour/acidic notes. Medium-light body with a very dry finish.

Sampled at the Kick Starter event at the Humboldt Cider Company to help fund their new tasting room. Poured a cloudy golden color with white head. Moderate lacing. Nose of sour fruit. Medium body. Smooth mouth feel. Flavor is fruit and funk, with a long sour finish. Perfect for a sour fan like me.

750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy dark golden/amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have big sour cherries, additional tart berry notes, acidic, musty wood, some funk, but the tart/sour acidic cherry dominates this, even though the sour notes are forward this was easy to drink.

Bottle at Craftheads. Nice cherry aroma, first sip is very tart, mouth drying. Lots of fruit, decent sourness, maybe not so much else. Refreshing and easy drinking. Good.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a hazy dark golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy tart fruit and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer for style.

Shared 750ml to snifters. Super tart aroma. Face puckering sour with cherry and oak on the finish. Sticky gum licking sweetness.

750 ml bottle to snifter (shared by alexsdad06). Looks good; a hazy full apricot with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; tart cherries with notes of brett, funk, and oak. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant medium-bodied mouthfeel. Good beer!

Type: 750ml bottle (25.4 oz.) Glass: Westvletern XII Trappist glass From: Beer Advocateís heresy22 Price: N/A Purchased: N/A Consumed: Oct. 25, 2014 Misc.: 2014 edition; Bottle says 6 percent ABV; Had about 2/3 of the bottle left when I got it Thanks Chris! Poured a dark pink lemonade color with light off white head that dissipated almost immediately. No lacing along the sides of the glass. No retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 3.63) Smelled artificial cherry (on a sundae), sour cherry, black cherry, cherry ice cream, Sweet Tarts, Smarties, cherry Bubble Yum, Gobstoppers, light orange zest and very light vanilla. (Smell - 4.25) Tasted even more cherrier than the nose. Got sour cherry, cherry Bubble Yum, Sweet Tarts, black cherry, cherry ice cream and light oaky notes. Cherry notes (lots of them obviously) are mostly sugary artificial. (Taste - 4.13) Light body. Oily-to-thin texture. Average carbonation. Long, sour fruity finish. (Feel - 4.38) Cherry is the only way to describe this beer. A nice sour, especially if you are into cherries. Yum, yum. (Overall - 4.13) 4.15 93 A-

"could be classed as a fruit lambic too i suppose. looks like a slightly lighter colered fruit punch. the white heady disappears rather quick, but the carbonation level is really good, and great for this style. fairly aggressively sour with the cherries definiteky making their presence known on the back end. great lingering finish. very bright aroma, and especially flavor."
