3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled February 2013
A steady pour into my Teku glass produces a 1/2 Ėfinger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a bright, red, almost pink, tinged gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, pale red tinged, copper hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of lactic acid, light cherry skins, a touch of yogurt like character, a hint of woody mushroom, and perhaps a hint of grain character. After the second, murkier pour, the beer gets a touch yeasty, and perhaps a touch of hay like grain.
The beer is amply tart, and has a bright fruitiness that leans more towards pomegranate, tropical fruit skin notes, some cherry skin notes and a light cherry fruit flavor. Very cleanly lactic, with an almost yogurt like flavor. There is a persistent, medium level of carbonation here that adds some prickly texture to this quite light bodied beer; there is a touch of lactic slickness here that keeps this from being watery.
Quite clean tasting, lightly fruity, lactic and quite tart. A good beer, that is technically well executed, but lacks dimensionality, depth, and / or complexity that would make it a great beer.

Thanks to Jake for sharing this bottle. From notes. Murky light brownish-reddish-goldish. Holy damn tart. Like your face puckers and then keeps going and going beyond first bit until itís almost too far and youíre basically ready for your entire head to implode in a full body, singularity of a pucker, before it finally and mercifully backs off. Oak, cherry, moderately sweet with a big vinegar tart finish. A little funk. Nice, really nice after acclimating (it took a few drinks before I could pull the lips out from the back of my neck).

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Looks like cherry 7-up. Clear, no carb except a few loose bubbles at the bottom. Smells primarily of oak, sour cherries, some raw wood, a little tea and some sour character. Tart, cherries (bing with a little pie cherry), oak, slight sweet character in the background, some earthy character Iím having difficulty articulating. Fuck, this is good. Thin with low, but prickly carb and a dry finish. Iím sad to have had this just because more would be hard to get.

750ml bottle, thanks matboz! Pours a cloudy pink with almost no head. Nose is super tart acidic funk with some fruit notes. Mouthfeel is basically flat but held up by the sharp sourness. Taste is very sour, some oak barrel, fruity, sweet. Finish is sour followed by nice fruit notes of cherry, passionfruit, grapefruit. Very sour beer. I enjoyed it!

Bottle @ Mattís house from our Reserve Society membership. Pours a milky yellow orange appearance with a thin white head. Bile, stomach acid, butter, cherry, butyric aroma that is disappointing. Stomach bile, cherry, strawberry, heavily acidic, tangy flavor. Full of butyric acid. God dammit.

Capped 750 from Bobbyís in Santa Clara, CA. Pours rather pickeled peach in color. Aroma is ascetic berry. Med body. Carbonation makes me feel like Iím a foaming monster. Mouth rendering. Flavor is extremely acetic cherry. If itís not cooking cherry, itís very like that. Mouth rendering. Damn itís sour. Finishes that way. Died and gone to heaven.

A: Pinkish/Red Hue, Passes Mild Light, Decent Head that fizzes away quickly, No Lacing
S: Tart Cherries, Funky, Mild Vinegar
T: Funky, Tart Cherries, Grapefruit, Mild Vinegar
M: Average Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Bitter, Tart
Overall, the best way to describe it is as a Sparkling Pink Grapefruit juice, true to the style of Sour Blonde Ale oaked on cherries. I loved it.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Appearance: Cloudy orange red color with not much head to speak of
Aroma: Big sour musty and fruity bouquet with cork
Taste: Super tart flavor like a cherry and lemon soda with woody esters and a prominent sour finish
Overall: A beer for extreme sour beer fanatics. If you to pucker up when drinking beer this ones for you
