COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’ve been hard at work on a recipe that includes – you guessed it – seven different grains. Let’s see if I can name them all: barley, wheat, rice, oats, corn, rye and...spelt. Yep, I think that’s it. The result is a perfect summer beer. It’s about 5% ABV and displays a nice fruity yeast character that finishes dry and slightly hoppy. It’s seven kinds of wonderful!

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. Cloudy yellow, small white head, scant lacing. Aroma of hay. Taste has lots of lemon, oily with a very bitter finish, too bitter for a saison. Very light body. This one misses the mark.

Draft. Pours a golden body with a white head and light retention. Musky cologne and citrus notes, a mild grains as well as toast and fruit. Spices with a hint of flax and cinnamon. A mild drying citrus finish, almost a lemon rind. Nice.

A hazed blonde saison with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice lemony saison with light cloven notes. In mouth, a nice smooth saison, with fruity notes, light orange pulp, oily mouthfeel, quite classy and smooth. On tap at ChurchKey DC, Sept. 18 2010.

(On draught at Sun Devil). Pours slight hazy golden with thin white head. Aroma is very much like a saison-maybe a little spicy from the rye. Semi-sweer with bitterness increasing with time. Light bodied with thin texture. Finish is initially quite bitter, but not as noticeable with more sips. Decent beer.

Draft @ Brouwers, Seattle, WA. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity spicy yeasty aroma with some weak grassy hints. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy bitter yeasty finish.

On tap at Churchill’s. Pale yellow and clear in the glass. Nose is lemon yeastiness. Taste is same with hints of Bretty funk. OK.

MrChopin (3347) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 30, 2010
on tap at max’s. tepid gold, pond scum white head, thin ring. Transparent lemon-gold, soapy, lght brett and grainy nose and flavor, more Brett in the latter. Lightly stinging carbonation, vey singular citrus notes with the pedio/Brett, almost diaper quality. The citrus draws too much attention to grain, stinging body, carbonation too high. Descent, but I’d prefer less harsh front, wheaty back appreciated.

On tap @ Specific Gravity, Salisbury Md-Light yellow pour w/a moderate white head. appearence kind of worried me, looked a little week. Light yeast aroma. Had some yeast, some grain/grass, a little sweetness, some hoderate hop flavor. Fairly dry w/a good amount of carbonation. Pretty smooth & easy to drink. Solid brew, not as great as some I’ve had from these folks, but soild.

On a personal note, finally caught up on a ratings backlog which has been going up & down for the last 3 months! Gonna have to go sample some new brews tomorrow!

Pretty good Saison expression, not much nose but a good palate and flavor, plus a little of that chalkiness that makes for the best Saisons. Super clean finish, I’d give it another try if I found it.
