COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’ve been hard at work on a recipe that includes – you guessed it – seven different grains. Let’s see if I can name them all: barley, wheat, rice, oats, corn, rye and...spelt. Yep, I think that’s it. The result is a perfect summer beer. It’s about 5% ABV and displays a nice fruity yeast character that finishes dry and slightly hoppy. It’s seven kinds of wonderful!

Tap at the Local Habit. Golden yellow with medium white head into tulip glass. Aroma of yeast, spices, and a hint of lemon. Mouth feel is very smooth with moderate carbo. Taste of spices up front and finishes with a yeast taste. Great beer.

On tap at Whole Foods. Pale blond color with moderate white head. Bread, clover, coriander, pepper. Pretty light bodied. Fairly sweet. A little bit light for me but a decent enough beer.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Poured into a 25cl glass from a draft at KnB Wine Cellar’s in San Diego, Calif. Color was murky, dark yellow. About ½-inch of head. Slight lacing on the top. Smells were wheat, grains and earth. Fairly flavorful. Some citrus and grapefruit in there as well. Lots of flavors that worked off the tongue. First taste was a buttery, fruity taste. It then gradually went to more of an apple finish. Somewhat refreshing, but still had the butter taste which was a bit much. More on the high carbonation side. I was a bit disappointed after trying some good Saisons the last month or so. I probably wouldn’t get this again.

Poured a cloudy yellow with two finger white froathy head. The taste was very grassy and hard to pick out an individual grain. I thought it was very nicely done and the other folks i was with thought it was a great summer beer.

On draft at the brickstore. Corn dominated aroma. Pour is a deep orange with a growing sculptural white head. Flavor is mostly rye smoothed out by a little oat and barley to give you some body. The grains dominate an otherwise spicey and fruity drink. An interesting take on an interesting style.

Draft… Pours cloudy and straw-colored with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. The bouquet is full of an overbearing clove phenol – great, if you like that particular phenol. I don’t. Light to medium-bodied and mildly creamy with modest carbonation. The flavor approaches perfect balance. Crisp, dry finish with a whisper of acidity.
