Shegöat is a brand new beer to our lineup, based on one of Patrick’s original, multiple award winning homebrew recipes. Based primarily on the traditional weizenbock style of Germany, brewed with both malted barley and wheat, the beer is rich in the flavors of bananas, cloves and caramel with a notes of cake spice hovering in the background. Just like the banana bread that großmutter used to make.

Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ “Epic beer Tasting 2016”. Unknown vintage, felt quite vintage to me. Dark brown, little tanned head, visually clear that the carbonation is low. Taste is akin to a thick oxidized very syrupy Bock, rather metallic with thick leaves. Taste is old thick metallic syrupy Bock, leaves, plastic, roots, clear oxidation, bland, overly & extremely sweet. Thick oxidized lager. Feels too old & overly thick uninteresting Bock. Definitely below average for The Bruery.

Cream ring over muddy red-brown beer. Sweet, almonds, marzipan, rosewater, amandine, frangipane. Rosewater, marzipan, wàààày too sweet, even for a Bock. Medium bodied, almost no carbonation. Not my taste, and certainly not Patricks’ best. "Shegöat"??? What’s that Umlaut doing there?

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2016 A hazed brown Bock with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of dark fruits, molasses, light fusel notes, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light vinous notes, treacle candy, dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, toffee, banana esters, very nice. Bottle at Spinrsx tasting.

Caoba oscuro y turbio con espuma beis ligera. Aromas de plátano, clavo y suave café. Cuerpo medio y maltoso sabor como en aroma con final de amargor seco suave.

Great beer. Reach creamy taste with honey, date/fig and subtle banana flavor. Carmel color. Nice finish.
