Served in a Bruery tulip. Almost flat. Nose is better than Rye Whiskey and without as much smoke. Chocolate and roast. Quite a bit of alcohol.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. Dark pour. Aroma has boozy vanilla, smoke and fruit. Taste is filthy rich, with bourbon vanilla booze, smoke chocolate and some subtle red ripe fruit. Truly amazing, just like the rye version.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at SB. Pours an opaque inky black with a loose thin tan head that goes away pretty quickly. Big sweet bourbony nose, lots of oak and vanilla and apricots with some sweet dark chocolate and campfire hiding under that. Heavy thick body with soft carb. Nice complex sweet dark chocolate, oak, vanilla, apricot, and campfire mid palate--overly sweet, but other than that, there’s nice balance and some layers here. Partly imbalanced, partly balanced...leave it to the Bruery.

Glad to get my hands on this one. Even better as expected. The smokiness is very faint, and also the booze isn’t overwhelming the wood and spices in this one.
