Served in a Bruery tulip. Almost flat. Nose is better than Rye Whiskey and without as much smoke. Chocolate and roast. Quite a bit of alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2014 edition. Pours opaque black with a 1-finger dark tan head that was gone quickly. Oak wood aroma mixed with a note of roasted malt and a touch of booze. Full body, rather viscous. A touch of an alcohol burn in the finish, but much milder than expected. Flavors of smoky wood with a caramel note underneath it. Some of the peppery rye shows at the front as it warms, as well as some caramel malt later on.

Bottle - Bourbon and some nice roasty smoke notes and molasses. Jet brown with a rich brown head. Bourbon and smoke with a nice sweetness and roast. Very nice, sweetness and bourbon balances huge smoke, well done.

A dark as night color with a a very smooth layered head. Dark dark color top. A huge smokey bourbon aroma. Very thick texture. A definite sipper. Thick creamy chocolate flavor. A giant bourbon back flavor. Starts to get a little spicy once it warms.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From 750ml at the kbs bottle share. A lot of campfire smoke in this one. Boozy. Completely over the top like all the bruery beers.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Shared bomber in tulips. Pleasant smokey nose with hints of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate. Opaque black/brown with no head. Fantastic job with the taste blending bourbon, toasted oak, dark/roasted malt, smoke, and milk chocolate. Definitely going back to get another bomber or two.

3.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 The rye, smoke and bourbon smell terrible, but the taste is great. The smoke is light enough that you can enjoy it. The bourbon is super light and only tinged the flair edged. Very earthy and deep black color that has almost no head, which is good. Bottle

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks zvikar. Black with a thin tan head. Slightly smoked, cherry heering and chocolate aroma, with notes of roses and vanilla. A little smoked sausage in the mouth, some iodine and sea salt, sweet, too. Full body, a little fruity and alcoholic mouthfeel, very heavy and good.

Pours a very dark brown with little to no light coming through and little to no head(not surprising with a 14 percent beer). Aroma is bourbon, roasted malts, spicy rye, smoked malts, and vanilla. Flavour is bourbon, spicy bready rye, vanilla, mild bitterness and and light warming alcohol. We’ll done 14 point beer!
