COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smoked Imperial Rye Porter aged in Rye Whiskey Barrels. A rich porter layered with rye spiciness and earthy smoke, caramel-like flavors, roasty malt and oaky deliciousness.
Brewed with beachwood and cherrywood smoked malt, and aged in rye whiskey barrels, Smoking Wood is a delicious demonstration of what wood has to offer when it comes to beer. This imperial smoked porter is brewed with a hefty amount of rye malt, contributing to a full body and light spiciness. Toasty oak, caramel and vanilla flavors balance the smokiness, contributing to an intense yet refined flavor profile. This is one of our favorite beers at the moment, we hope you agree.

On tap at the Hopleaf in a snifter. Pours a jet black with a creamy beige head. Lots of meaty wood smoke comes off the nose. Black patent roast comes through as well with some undertones of red fruit. Real roasty and smokey flavors with vanilla, figs, raisins, and a strong wooden bitterness at the end. Really tasty. Balanced well.

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a small, lacing, beige head. Aroma of smoke, wood, vanilla, whiskey and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry with biitter notes and alcohol. Medium bodied, oily to creamy texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Smoked.

Tastes like a huge burning leaf campfire just got blown into my mouth. With cocoa and marshmallow chipotle breath. Massive beer. Makes you shake your head. Smokey biscuits. Wow. Good I think. Had this on draft at Jerry's in Andersonville, part of a flight.

Bottle. Pours jet black with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet smoked dark roasted with sweet wood notes. Light berry (cherry) notes in the flavor. Strong sweet roasted notes. Some chocolate and quite a load of whiskey notes. Creamy and slick palate. Wow I love this! Complete as hell. I’m glad I have 750 ml of this.

AN excellent beer that could be phenomenal with more body and a tad more carbonation. Huge smokey maple rye nose. Big tarry smoke flavours but palate fatigue sets in quickly. A bottle to share most definitely.

Dark brown color. Big molasses, rye, dark chocolate, smoked bacon, soy sauce, off sweet nose. The mouth is medium full, tons of rye with molasses, charcoal, black liquorice, a touch salty, not too boozy. For the alcohol it’s not too boozy. Lingering rye. Very good

Bottle. Pours a deep black color with a thick tan head. Real thick vanilla aroma with whiskey notes. Rye malt as well. Incredible taste. Such complex flavors. Whiskey, vanilla, brown sugar, and toffee come to mind. Very, very rich. Some molasses as well. An incredible beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
