3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ 10 East
Since I love extremely sweet beers, and extremely sour beers and extremely bitter beers and...well...this was extremely sweet and it was really nice. Vanilla and dates, some bourbon soaked raisins in brown sugar and caramel sauce. No hop presence noticeable. It’s not cloying in any way and it’s not boozy which are both admirable. Comes across like an English barleywine, but I can definitely see an American Strong Ale too.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden pour with a bit of funk coming off the nose. Old ale with a slightly sour element works out pretty well but I wouldn’t get it again.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Not a WHOLE lot different than the base, bcause the barrel still is the preveailing component. Maybe a little smaller with a quick earthy shot and touch of tart, but you really gotta work for it. Worthy addition

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared with the Epic. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, caramel, and oak. Pours sticky hazy brown with light white lacing. Taste is Werthers original caramel, heath bar toffee, and condensed bourbon (as if there was such a thing). This was one giant candy bar and I loved it.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a bottle obtained at the Bruery. Aroma is of dark fruits, brown sugar, and booze. Appearance is a dark cloudy amber brown with a one finger light tan head. Taste is of prunes and molasses with a slight bitterness. Palate is very good with a pleasant amount of carbonation. Overall an excellent English Barleywine. Cheers.
