From a 75 cl bottle shared at the Beer Heads bottle share in Falls Church. Pours a hazy dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of carfamel and butterscotch. Flavors of apricot, fig, oak and vanilla. Smooth, somewhat sweet finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Not a WHOLE lot different than the base, bcause the barrel still is the preveailing component. Maybe a little smaller with a quick earthy shot and touch of tart, but you really gotta work for it. Worthy addition

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared with the Epic. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, caramel, and oak. Pours sticky hazy brown with light white lacing. Taste is Werthers original caramel, heath bar toffee, and condensed bourbon (as if there was such a thing). This was one giant candy bar and I loved it.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a bottle obtained at the Bruery. Aroma is of dark fruits, brown sugar, and booze. Appearance is a dark cloudy amber brown with a one finger light tan head. Taste is of prunes and molasses with a slight bitterness. Palate is very good with a pleasant amount of carbonation. Overall an excellent English Barleywine. Cheers.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle.
Aroma is very rich with lots of caramel, toffee and burnt sugar. Light chocolate and roast notes. Medium light raisin, fig and prune notes. Light alcohol spice. Medium light oak notes as it warms.
Pours a murky, muddy brown with a medium small, somewhat thin, tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers a bit.
Flavor is similar to the aroma but with a bit more fruit notes. Moderately strong caramel, toffee, burnt sugar and treacle. Medium light toasted bread notes with light chocolate and faint roast notes. Medium fruit notes of raisin, cherry, berry, plum and fig. Medium bitterness with moderate alcohol spice. Medium to medium light oak notes.
Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low, but present astringency with moderate alcohol warmth.
Overall, a pretty enjoyable beer with a lot of malt sugar complexity. Nice, balanced fruit notes with a decent amount of oak. Alcohol is fairly well hidden, but also fairly strong.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gross pour, pretty much toilet water. Great smell of caramel and burnt brown sugar and figs. Taste is great, peach skin, sugary with a touch of melon. Quite boozy but not much for 15%

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark brown. Very boozy barleywine. Lots of caramel. The bourbon is there but almost overpowered by the strong beer. This is a solid barleywine. Not king Henry but on par with the beers below like moas.
