Glad to have gotten to try this. The kumquats play nicely with the underlying sour beer making this pretty balanced for the style.

Murky light copper amber with crackling head. Sprucy notes in the aroma with juniper and a light sweetness with an upfront acidity. Lots of spruce and juniper in the flavor. Very acidic. Clashes. Dry and acidic.

11/VII/14 - 75cl bottle @ Eerste "Er Klopt Iemand Op De Deur" Samson & Gert Bierproeving (aka Epic Beer Tasting III) - BB: n/a, 2013 vintage (2014-798) Thanks to PriorL & Mathieu87 for sharing the bottle!

Clear amber beer, small aery to creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: yes, it’s oranges an kumquats already, pretty subtle, bit lemony, sweet, bit oxidized, some almonds. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sour, sweet notes, fruity, orange peel, citrus. Aftertaste: still fruity notes, orange peel, soft bitterness, dry finish. Really nice one, this!

750 ml bottle shared with the Quebec City crew. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with a short lived white head. Aroma is very spicy, fruity, green apple. Flavor is oranges, berries and...kumquats, I guess (if only I’d ever had one). Finish is acetic and tartish. Light to medium body, average carbonation.

Bottle, shared at RBAG 2014 by Kevin. Hazy bright orange. Lovely lactic acidity and pithy bitter orange character. Sour and dry. Terrific!
