Sample at Kurtkeller 012: Bruery-tastic 01 on 05/16/2014. Hazy golden-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of funky citrus, yeast and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tangy kumquats and citrus, yeast and bready malt. The finish is dry and fruity with a lingering lemon and kumquats aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottle shared at the Swamp Head Bottle Drop. Pours slightly murky orange colored with a fluffy white to off white head on top. Beautiful aroma of sour vinegar, tropical fruit, and the light spice I get from the regular SitR. Flavor follows with light sourness that is sweetened up by the semisweet and tart kumquats, clean crisp finish with a lingering fruity flavor left on the palate. My wife, not being a fan of most beers, actually even really enjoyed this one. The fruit balances the sour perfectly here and creates a new beer that retains the beautiful sour flare that I love in the regular version. A little more heft than the regular version, creamy yet crisp, sweet and tart, with medium plus carbonation. I would have this one again and again.

750ml bottle. Poured a cloudy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus / lemon pledge, some earth, and ’zesty’. Tastes of citrus, lemons, kumquats, and orange peels. Tart finish.

Clear dark golden.... nice white head... good lacing and retention. Nose is pretty damn citrus sour.... kumquats are loud and proud. Flavor has the same big kumquat presence... citric and pithy... lactic and unapologetic.. liquid sweet tarts... juicy citrus .... for my humble palate, the sour notes destroy any rye perceptions that I might have. Light/medium body... good carbonation.... very puckery and sour, still pretty refreshing though a 750 is plenty between 5 dudes.

Location/Date:Bottle pour from Dave on 4/1/2014.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange.
Aroma: Light sour yeasty, tangerine/orange aroma.
Taste: Lightly sour, citrus(orange/tangerine, aka kumquat), light yeast. Nice.
Palate:Medium body, covers alcohol well.

Summary: A nice accessible sour ale. Not too funky, which is how I prefer it.

Bottled 23apr13 This beer pours an amber with a rim of creams. Smells of kumquat skins. Flavor is nice with lactic and some more juicy kumquats. Nice flavor. Medium on light with moderate carb. Dry finish. Nice beer.
