Bottle. Fruity pear apricot peach. Somewhat muddled spiced dough rye malt backing. Some Brett sweat. A bit too big. Could use more focus. Not bad though.

Pours hazy orangewith a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, rye, funk, brett and some fruits. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium sour with a long dry, sour and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the taproom. Lightly hazy, golden to orange in color and with a small, off-white head. Lots of citrus on the nose. Must be the kumquats I guess. Some lemon peel. It’s lightly tart on the palate, dry, with a nice carbonation. The flavor has lots of the citrus thing, some malt notes, and a good lemony note. Long finish. Definitely a fruit worth trying out. 130811

750 ml bottle shared by Jansky. Thanks, dude. Pours a murky amber orange hue, well hazed with a good frothy offwhite head dies to a filmy layer. Dies to a nice thicker ring, laces well. Aromas are sour, a touc of white wine. Vinegar touches with lemon, lactic twang, yogurt and oak. Some straw, orange and citrus. Nice sour kick, a touch acedic. Initial is firmly sour, lemony lactic sourness meet kumquat, guava, and kiwi. Yogurt, oak, and gentle vanilla. Middle shows a bit of fruit, bread, straw. Quickly backing out in a big dry, lactic sour finish. Refreshing and vibrant, not acedic like the nose seemed to indicate a touch. Nice play between lemon, oak, gentle white wine and funky brett. Some nice kumquat and kiwi. Really nice as it finishes, dry, gentle low carbonation and dry finish. Kumquat nose really becomes quite pleasant, sour and potent as we press on, good fruit presence. Really nice. Refreshing and light, potent without being overdone or acedic. Nice fruit presence.

Sampled on 8/8/2013. This sour/wild ale pours a medium to dark orange amber color (sorry I can’t be more vague) from a 750ml bottle. Small sized white foamy, quickly disappearing head. The aroma is citrusy, fruity, tart and sweet, with some wood. A medium bodied wild/sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice wood flavor. This one is up there in the tartness/mouth puckering scale. Tooth enamel will remain, but might be compromised. But it is balanced with some nice fruity sweetness. Not a lot of carbonation, but I am not sure it need a whole lot. The fruitiness increases and the tartness diminishes a little as it warms. The kumquats work well with the sourness and tartness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.

Bottle... Poured pale, hazy golden/amber with a moderate head. Nose o strong citrus notes with musky yeast spice. Straight kumquat flavor. Quite nice with strong acidity from both citrus and lactic yeast tones. Refreshingly tart but not aggressively sour which allowed all the great kumquat fruit flavors to come through.
