Une marmelade surette et délicatement lactique flanquée d’une éventail malté complexe mais éphémère. Superbe et surprenant considérant que je n’ai pas été impressionné par la version sans Kumquats.

Bottle @ Matt’s house from our Reserve Society membership. Pours a cloudy orange appearance with a thin tan head. Pineapple, fruit cocktail, passion fruit, vanilla, mild cherry aroma. Tangy, big lemon, lime, passion fruit, guava, funky fruity flavor that finishes pretty tart. Pretty tasty beer.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma has big vanilla, white fruit with peach, pear, slight funk, nice fruity notes, touch of earth. Taste is a mix of big fruit, white fruit, funky fruit, nice earth, hints of grass, nice sweet fruits, fnishing fairly bitter, dry. slightly sweet. So good.

Bottle at Matt’s with friends. Pour is hazy orange with a small cream-colored head with decent lacing. Medicinal, peachy, apricots, doughy, grassy, herbal, menthol, minty, and funky aroma. Taste is sour peaches, fruit skin, basil, straw, tannin, white wine, and oaky with a medium sour finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Pretty nice stuff.

Intensely tart but extremely well balanced by the kumquats... Almost fruit juice notes that give way to spicy rye and tartness, delicious and better than the original ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A: Murky Orange Hue, Passes Mild Light, White Head Ring, Mild Lacing S: Dank Musty Grapes, Kumquats, Rye Malts, Mild Citrus T: Kumquats, Rye, Citrus, Mild Lactic Acid M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Bitter, Mildly Tart Overall, it seems that the kumquats cut down the lactic acid on this one but you still get all the other qualities of the base Sour in the Rye....loving this beer better.

Big thanks to tectactoe. I liked this one better than Sour In The Rye. Still that nice vinegar tart but with more citrus.

Bottle share at the Syb Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Snifter. Pours a hazy light amber with a one finger white head. Aroma is sour fruits, funk, must and a hint of the rye malts. The taste is a sour punch up front with the backend being earth, tart fruits, malted rye, and an almost blue-cheese punch. The sour lingers on the finish. As it warms more of the fruit (Kumquat) comes through and the sourness tends to wane some. Light-medium body, good carb. Tingles on the palette.

Bottle sampled at RBSG. From notes. Tart, funky and fruity. Not sure what kumquats taste like but they are probably in there too. Enjoyable.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to Kenny for bringing the Bruery goodies once again, 19/09/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is tarte apricot, soured tropical fruits, tarte peach, sugars, light smoke, dank straw. Taste comprises tarte peach medley, earthy, grass, soured apricot stones. lightly acididc, touch of must. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with a tickle of prickle, dry tarte finale. Great sour affair.
