Bottle share at the Syb Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Snifter. Pours a hazy light amber with a one finger white head. Aroma is sour fruits, funk, must and a hint of the rye malts. The taste is a sour punch up front with the backend being earth, tart fruits, malted rye, and an almost blue-cheese punch. The sour lingers on the finish. As it warms more of the fruit (Kumquat) comes through and the sourness tends to wane some. Light-medium body, good carb. Tingles on the palette.

Clear dark golden.... nice white head... good lacing and retention. Nose is pretty damn citrus sour.... kumquats are loud and proud. Flavor has the same big kumquat presence... citric and pithy... lactic and unapologetic.. liquid sweet tarts... juicy citrus .... for my humble palate, the sour notes destroy any rye perceptions that I might have. Light/medium body... good carbonation.... very puckery and sour, still pretty refreshing though a 750 is plenty between 5 dudes.

Location/Date:Bottle pour from Dave on 4/1/2014.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange.
Aroma: Light sour yeasty, tangerine/orange aroma.
Taste: Lightly sour, citrus(orange/tangerine, aka kumquat), light yeast. Nice.
Palate:Medium body, covers alcohol well.

Summary: A nice accessible sour ale. Not too funky, which is how I prefer it.

750, capped. Thanks j! Pours a murky dark amber with very little head or lace. Mildly sharp tart nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Beautiful oak, lacto, sour fruit, pith, and caramel mid palate. Long tart finish.

Bottle shared by oRos. Pours murky copper with a tiny beige head and a funky fruit aroma. There is a mellow sour fruit flavor that sticks to the palate.

this was my favorite version of sour in the rye, while the kumquats did not really shine through they seemed to have intensified this beer was a fun treat
