Sour in the Rye is an American wild ale. A challenging beer to brew due to the substantial amount of rye malt, but you’ll be glad we took the time. The character of the rye asserts itself with clove and pepper in the aroma and flavor, and contributes a full body not generally found in sour beers. Pleasantly sour with notes of tart cherry, rustic earth and vanilla notes from a year-plus of barrel aging.

Wow. This beer was a perfect sour slap to the face. Aroma was nice. Sour cherry, vinegar and just a slightly woodiness. Pour was a hazy medium brown with a thin off white film on top. Taste was perfect. Stunningly sour. At first sip the taste buds are jolted with the sour cherry and vinegar flavors. The oak came out as it warmed but the gripping sourness didn’t let much through. The strong carbonation intensified this beer.

Dark blood orange color . Intense sour earthy cherry nose. Amazing intensity in sourness, tart, woody, a bit biting in the end. Tingles on top of the mouth . Full !

Cloudy, ruddy orange. No head. You smell it across the table: sourness reaks out of it. Mouth puckering green apple sour, just massive sourness. Pez like end. Wow.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is funk, vanilla, and subtle hints of pepper and cherry. Hazy orange to amber hue with healthy white head. Extremely tart, sour, and acidic matched with spice and peppery flavors. The cherry in the nose is much less in the taste, perhaps it the rye malt taking over? Wonderful beer!

Bottled. Pours hazy pale amber with a small, lacing off-white head. Aroma of cherry, vanilla, caramel, rye, wood and spice. Slightly sweet lavor that ends up dry and tart. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Sour. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Orange. Tart cherry aroma. Straight tart cherry taste. Puckering and highly acidic. Actually stings the back of my throat. Like drinking a sour warhead candy, which isnt necessarily bad. Oily palate.

Pours orange / light amber with a beige head. The aroma has cherry, vanilla, bugs, cream, vinegar, citrus and berries. It has a medium crisp body with biting carbonation. The flavor starts with crisp citrus and vinegar sourness, bugs, oak, acid, apples, blackberries and some lemons. The finish has a big sour bite and kinda funky. Nice.

Bouteille. Merci Charles !. Excellente.
