Draft at Beer Revolution - Huge head falls quickly. Very fresh sour aroma. Clody orangy brown. Wonderful puckery taste to it from the wild bugs. A must for sour beer fans.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle of the 2012 version with friends. Pours a deeper orange than other Bruery sours. No head to speak of. Aroma is more of a gueze and sour profile than other offerings. Taste is at first off putting with a chemical taste but this goes away on the second drink and is enjoyable. Nothing insanely sour but this one is an interesting beast. More going on here.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice mixture of lactic sourness, sour fruits, and oak. Not totally mouth puckering sour but sour enough for any fan of the style to fall in love and I did.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled on 1/28/12. This sour/wild ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing. The aroma is tart, funky, fruity and sour. A medium to full bodied sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet with some cherry. The hops are herbal and spicy. Nice carbonation. Tart, funky, and sour with some cherry sweetness at the finish. Hint of vanilla as well. Very smooth tasting sour. Lots of tartness and a touch of rye spiciness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sour and tart.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a dark ruby red color with a thin off white head that immediately disappears. Some visible carbonation bubbling up but no lacing.
Slightly funky aroma with a decent barrel presence and lots of sweet rye, dark fruit and malt. Earthy with subtle barnyard character, funky bugs and toasted oak. Subtle acetone presence but nose is dominated by funk and spicy rye.
Medium bodied but a bit thinner than expected with a balance of oak, funk, spice, rye, dark fruit and sweet malt. Slightly tart and puckering but more funky than sour. There’s more acetone than the nose suggests but it isn’t too overpowering or vinegar-y. Dry, toasted oak and lots rye flavor. This beer would probably be terrible if it wasn’t for the rye but it counters the funk and acetone with a nice sweet and spicy character. This is complimented by some dark fruit and sweet malt. Finishes dry and tart with a touch more acetone. Overall, well balanced and flavorful but the acetone turns a beer that could be amazing into slightly above average.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
750mL thanks to MrChopin. Pours a tepid, clear, glowing amber. No head formation really. Acetic vinegar nose with hints of sweet tamarind and candied orange sections. Tate is hot acetic. Hot hot. Small tamarind and orange peel. Mild tropical notes but so hot. Sweat inducing ultra acetic character. Tough to get through this one.
