COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American Wild Rye Ale was brewed with a substantial portion of rye malt, and the spicy character of the grain asserts itself with clove and pepper in the aroma and flavor. Add in sour cherry notes from our special blend of micro-organisms and vanilla from the red wine barrels and you’ve got a mouthful!

A really nice sour. Thanks northopfrye. Pours a vibrant orange. Sour and peachy aromas and flavorers. Bracingly sour. Yum.

bottleshare thanks to DexterCat. Pours a dark yellow to reddish color. Minimal white head. Aroma is light wood with lemon and citrus. Taste is mouth puckering tart with some light fruit. Literally one of the most sour things I have had in a while. pH is 0.2

Hazy orange pour with white head. Big tart, citrusy, fruity, sweet, more sweet tart. Huge tart sour character, juicy and fruity - citrusy and stone fruit flavor. A very excellent sour beer, especially for an easy to get brew.

Bottle @ Castle jackl. Deep amber pour with a two finger head that quickly dissipates. Plenty of strawberry and vanilla on the nose. Buggy wood. Green apple and strawberry tartness. Slight rye spiciness. Shallow tart finish. Light body, easy to drink. Tasty, but not particularly complex.

Unbelievable sour. Home run in my book. Many pleasant citrus notes with minor hops notes makes this great for me. Not to overpowering of any one element.

Bottle to glass. Pours a murky burnt orange color with a light tan head. Aroma is mostly tart, white wine, a hint of rye. Flavor is intensely sour with a little bit of rye hiding in the background. Light to medium in body with a long lingering oily sour. Exquisite beer!

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2014 Pours out light coppery gold with light white head. All barnyard funk in the nose. Pulls in medium bodied with deep sour with a bit of rye spice. One of my favorite sours.

2012 vintage. Pours a deep copper color with a finger of eggshell foam. Lots of mango, cherry fruit up front with some grainy spice in the back. Tons of tart acidic sourness runs through the length of the beer... after a half a glass the acidity takes over and rips the enamel off my teeth. Really nice for the first ten minutes but the overwhelming acetic qualities take over my palette and destroy the nuances that were apparent in the beginning of the pour.

Bottle @ skortila, courtesy of caesar. Hazy orange coloured with an off-white head. Nose is slightly sour, citric acid, fruity, some tartness. Flavour is light malty, citric acid, cherries, bit of wood, lots of fruits. Finish is fairly dry and slightly bitter. Really pleasant.
