This American Wild Rye Ale was brewed with a substantial portion of rye malt, and the spicy character of the grain asserts itself with clove and pepper in the aroma and flavor. Add in sour cherry notes from our special blend of micro-organisms and vanilla from the red wine barrels and you’ve got a mouthful!

Nose is very Flemish ale-ish, nice dark copper color with light bubbles. The first thing I get is salt, and lots of it! after that is a nice tart with a hint of cherry and lemon. the finish lingers on for a wile. A very enjoyable brew.

Bottle, about one and a half years old, I’m told. Pours pinkish amber with small film of white bubbles. Aroma is lemony sourness, vinegar, peach, strawberry. Taste is very sour cherry, peach, slight meatiness. Puckery. Pretty high carbonation. Good.

2014 bottle. Can’t believe I’ve never rated this, it’s one of my go-to beers that I keep on hand. The spice from the rye and the sour bugs combine to make this one complex and delicious. Powerfully sour but still drinks smoothly. I’m a fan.

Bottle. This was fabulous, a sour beer that’s quite sour but very drinkable. The sour cherry is countered by spiciness and enough sweetness to make this really quenching and rounded.

Deep reddish orange with a fast fading head. ’14 bottle fresh. Nice cherry and wet wood nose, along with some pineapple. Quite tart, with sour cherry and pineapple and more wood. Not sure what the rye brings here but this is tasty stuff if not super complex.

De botella en CervezaConArte Málaga (distribución de Zombier). Muy compleja, pero equilibrada. La mejor cerveza que he probado este año.

Glowing rose orange little to no head. Smells clean with a light fruity sour. Smooth sour with a light rye undertone it adds a little dryness to the end. Still a great sour bite.

Pours an amber red with a beige head and sour, oaky aroma. Taste is sour and tart up front, mouth puckering with tons of oak and fruits, cherry, and wood with a dry, sour finish. Great sour

Bomber with Zach and Brandon, pours a dark orang ember color with a nice head. Nose is sour and tart and full of oak. Taste is sour and tart and mouth puckering, wood and oak easily tasted. Finishes on the same sour and tart notes. Great sour ale. Quaff Score 8 / 10

On Tap at Ale House Columbia. golden orange in color. Aroma is sweet, strong pleasant aroma of fermenting sweet fruits. Flavor is very tasty, very tart. Tastes of peaches/pears/ maybe a hint of cherry. Almost like a sour candy in the middle. Better than expected, and my expectations were already pretty high.
