4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The aroma is strongly funky and complex. Wild animals and vinegar and cheese are up front with hints at fruits, oak, champagne and rye. Using rye in a sour is so smart. The bold and clean funky, sourness blends perfectly with the rye-tartness. To say this is a dry beer is an understatement. There are hints of fruit, flowers, oak to back up the vinegar and barnyard flavor. This is a legit, top-notch sour.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber orange, very small head. Aroma has loads of sour notes, mainly peaches, slight hint of oranges. Extremely tart, loads of laccto, no hint of rye. Fun but a bit unbalanced for the style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Beer Bloggers Conference - San Diego - Big huge sour beer. Tons of alcohol and sour flavors. Just a big sour cherry blend in my humble opinion.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
(2013 vintage re-reviewed after a year’s cellaring) Pours a clear copper amber with one finger of loose light beige head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim and no lacing. Nose is sour and funky, with lemony citrus coming to the forefront and dominating over the rye bread tones that were previously more noticeable, vanilla and spices coming through as it warms. Taste has become almost lemonade-like citrus and sour cherries, with low but sufficient sweetness. Medium-bodied and moderate residual carbonation despite the lack of a head.
At least as good as it was at the time of the previous review, perhaps slightly better. The sourness has developed more, with slightly less sweetness apparent. The flavours are more of a cohesive whole, but still leave a complex finish, with vanilla and cloves gradually becoming apparent as the citrus and cherries fade. Really, really good, with only some very minor aesthetic issues preventing a perfect score.

Bottle at Gaasa, june 10th 2014. Hazy orange body with a thick white head. Funky aroma with citrus fruits, cherry, rye. Taste on the sour side, tart fruit, funk, yet with a noticable caramel and rye presence. Fresh sour finish with peach, an amazing beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 112712, lot 5. Poured a hazy orangey straw color with an ok head and weak lacing per the style. Aroma of sour lemons, horseblanket, tart apples. Flavor followed, tons of tart and sourness, faint rye spice in the finish, but nothing prominent. Some barrel oak in the finish. Might as well have been Joe’s super sour puckering killer lambic if you ask me. Definitely a strong sour brew, but mouth puckering and acidic finish for sure.
