COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American Wild Rye Ale was brewed with a substantial portion of rye malt, and the spicy character of the grain asserts itself with clove and pepper in the aroma and flavor. Add in sour cherry notes from our special blend of micro-organisms and vanilla from the red wine barrels and you’ve got a mouthful!

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours murky and caramel-colored with a small, fluffy, off-white head. The bouquet is just bursting-at-the-seams with toasted oak, funky sock acidity and caramel – just a hint of rye spiciness. Full-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. This baby is sour as Hell – totally unexpected from a 10% abv whale of a specialty grain beer. There’s some spiciness from the rye and silly yeasts, but really, it’s all about the s-o-u-r. Finishes (you guessed it) sour and caramely with just the slightest trace of butter at the wee end. Totally wowed by this world class beer. Thanks go out to giarcsr for shipping this baby my way!

An aroma that starts out good and ends up top notch. A good strong sour and peppery bite. This is what I was looking for! The funk is strong and grainy and escellent. Absolutely loved it. First time I was blown away here.

Simply incredible. One of the best sours I’ve ever had, and easily the best American sour. Perfect balance of tartness and spice for a truly unique, refreshing drinking experience.

750ml Bottle from Brewtopia of Port Jeff. Poured a cloudy golden color with a small sized off white head. Rye, bread, woody, and citrus. Great sour finish. Alcohol content very well hidden. Nice rye and sourness marriage. Highly recommend for the sour lovers

Draft at Beer Revolution - Huge head falls quickly. Very fresh sour aroma. Clody orangy brown. Wonderful puckery taste to it from the wild bugs. A must for sour beer fans.

Tap at fireworks - pours hazy amber with a big Cabernet, must, sour cherry, vanilla, and rye aroma. Taste is just this side of being too sour, but they’ve restrained themselves. Overall, very, very nice!

On tap at Thirsty Monk in Asheville, NC. Dark orange pour with an off-white head. Aroma of sour apple, light oak, cherry, and lemon zest. The flavor makes me very happy; sour apple and cherry with light lactic notes. A wonderful sour!
