I love tart of darkness, and the vanilla and cocoa nibs add an amazing layer to it. The chocolatey taste pairs perfectly with tartness of the original. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow. Draft at the tasting room. Brown pour with a slight tan head. Slight chocolate and vanilla nose. Beautiful blend of sour, chocolate and vanilla - blowing my mind a bit that a sour could have these components. Fantastic.

Daft. Black pour with no head. Cacao aroma dominate the normal sir stout aromas. Chocolate flavor and tart sour black malts. Very different from the original.

On tap @ The Bruery. Black pour with a small tan head. Really strong chocolate and vanilla notes. Light roast, licorice, and tartness. A bit of grass and fruit. Flavor is big on the vanilla and chocolate. Which, oddly, works nicely with the sourness, and also mitigates it. Notes of roast, oak, sour orange, and lemon.

On tap at the Bruery; still growing into liking sour beers. Aroma featured more of the tartness and cherries/fruit, when compared to the flavor. Flavor was still sour, but more balanced some vanilla and chocolate.

On tap at the Bruery; probably my favorite on the day. Didn’t note the color. ARoma and flavor both had a lot of depth and complexity. Surprising cocoa and vanilla notes, with some nice sourness. Pleasant on the palate.

The Bruery knows what to do with chocolate. This is a marvelous Jekyll and Hyde beer. Starts with the tart which grabs you then fades into chocolate and vanilla notes. Super easy to drink. The aroma is vanilla forward and fools you until the cherry sour notes hit. Wonderful.

3 July 2013, tap at the Bruery. Nose is cobwebs and cherries. Thin body and fizzy. Wow, huge sweet chocolate up front, vanilla and tart cherries in the middle, chocolate comes out here and there throughout. Pretty awesome!
