COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed a stout (no, not Black Tuesday, this one is only 5% abv if you can believe it), but we then decided to throw it into oak barrels...and added our special blend of souring bacterias and yeasts. The result is a perfectly tart yet awesomely dark and roasty sour stout. Not a style you see too often - and in our opinion, not a style you see often enough.
Originally part of the Provisions series.

Big bottle. Dark brown with white fizzy head. Aroma is dry and tart; grapes, roasted malt and a bit funk. Taste is on the sour side; roasted malt, barnyard, lemon/lime, chalk and some red wine notes. Incredible beer

definitely an unusual beer, the sour is pretty prominent, giving it a sour cherry/pomegranate twang. not too harsh, but not something id want to drink a lot of.

En stoutsuring alltså.. Hmm ja lite kul faktiskt. Kaffedoft. Syrlig och frisk men inga bärtoner. Lågt Ph Rerate. Hos Hasse: domineras av stall och funk och diskret drag av stout

Pours black with a strong sour nose. Taste is tart and funky that finishes with a little smoke from the stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours black with a nice thick creamy head that leaves beautiful lacing. Taste is overpowering SOUR. Nothing else comes through, just sour. Medium to heavy body, average carbonation.

Aromas of dark dried fruit, black cherry, plum, raisin, and cassis. Black with dark ruby highlights. Dry, tart, and with a hint of cocoa. Medium bodied, crisp, acidic, and finishes pretty clean.

From a 750 into my Michelob chalice. First time Iíve used this chalice and it wonít be the last. Bottle is the 2012 vintage so itís about a year in the bottle. Pours a porterish brown. Couple inches, tops, of white frothy head and zero lacing. LOTS of fizz in this one. Light mouthfeel. Like a porter. Very dry too Nose is very tart and consists mainly of grapes and chalk. Taste is also overwhelmingly sour. Very mild depth of flavor. Good amount of red wine, chalk, green grapes, sweet tarts, lemon, lime and a bunch of other sour things thrown in. I did like this one. Very sour but easy to drink with a light mouthfeel. From my buzz I got going, seems to be bigger than the 5.7% on the bottle. Worth a try but Iím not buying again. Bruery stuff just aint worth the coin.
