COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed a stout (no, not Black Tuesday, this one is only 5% abv if you can believe it), but we then decided to throw it into oak barrels...and added our special blend of souring bacterias and yeasts. The result is a perfectly tart yet awesomely dark and roasty sour stout. Not a style you see too often - and in our opinion, not a style you see often enough.

Nice tart aroma, could be a little more prominent though. Taste is just how I like it, very sour. So tasty.

From a brown 750ml bottle at RBAG 2015, pt 2. Deep brown in colour, thin beige head. Aroma has cola, cherry, balsamic vinegar, sour lemon. Taste is sour and lemony. Very acidic brew. Hard to pick anything else out.

Bottle (2013) to taster Black currant, sourness, a light touch of malt and vanilla. Dark reddish brown, but no head. The sourness hits you hard, and overpowers all other flavours, until it fades, then a slight maltiness comes out.

Pours a black color with basically no head. Aroma of tartness from the wild yeast with roasty undertones and slight hint of oak. Flavor is dominated by the sour tartness. The roasted flavors of the stout are barely present in the palate. The do blend nicely tho.

Bottle - Tart blackberry notes and some balsamic wood notes. Deep brown with a small beige head. Up front puckering tartness and acidity with no remnants of stout. My teeth hurt.

Black colored, weak tan head, almost only a ring. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, oak, fruity wine with some sour notes, Brett. Taste is strong sourness, winey, oak, funky with some chocolate and roasted malt notes, dry tart finish. Medium bodied and light to moderate carbonation. Unfortunately sours are not my thing.

Botte at home with Jason. Pour is deep brown with a small tan head and decent lacing. Tangy, sour vinegar, lightly roasty, grapey and green apples in the aroma. Taste is tangy, red wine vinegar, dark grapes, some roast, green apples, and citrus with a bid acidic finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Bleh.

750 ml. Dark. Incredible flavor with great finish. Easy to drink if you are a sour fan.

Bottle from BCS. Pours a deep dark brown with a minimal head. Nose is all sour goodness, with some muscat, oak and gooseberry present. The taste has a nice wine-like quality to it. Lots of tannins and sourness that lingers on the palate. Some of the roast comes out as it warms up but it also gets more sour as it warms. Body is very wine-like. Great stuff.

Bottle shared by a friend. Old 2013 batch bottle. Poured a hazy dark Brown colour with a tanned head. Nose has sour cherries, tart vinegar, not a lot of roasted notice, tart fruits. Some sweet notes in the aftertaste. Grapeskin, and Some sweetness of chocolate or caramel. Some dusty horseblanket in the start. Pretty surprising. Better as the sour in the rye

Bottle. Very dark pour with a small, slightly ruby-tinged off-white head. Aroma of cherry tarts and burnt sugar. The sourness does not overpower the flavor - still get some stone fruit and chocolate in there. Good stuff.
