COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

750ml Bottle @ Earl of Essex 2013/4/17 Lots of brett here there and everywhere. Got the basil. Dry as you would expect. Impressive but not to my taste.

Overall a very good Tripple but not a great one. Very enjoyable. Very frothy. Very balanced alcohol level. Surprised it was even 8.1. Well done there. Good fruit an spice. Just didn't blow me away. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted this on tap at the 8th Street Ale Haus in Sheboygan, Wisconsin so I didn’t get great notes. Malty without being boozy.

On tap at Mayor of Old Town. Gold and clear with a white head. The aroma is fruity with spices, herbs and Belgian yeast. Similar flavor with light bitterness and a dry finish. Light to medium body with a smooth feel that hides the ABV. Pretty refreshing trip.

Golden in color with a very large fluffy head. Aroma is spice, yeast, citrus and basil. Nice flavor and different from most tripels I think the basil gives almost the same notes as hops.

Defintely one of top fave trippel from The Bruery. So much so that I sought out to get a couple of more bottles to lay down for later. The aroma & thick head on this trippel blew me away.

Bottle pours a reddish-gold with a thin white head. Retention and lacing are lacking. Sweet herbaceous aroma with hints of pear, pineapple, apricot, and apple. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Tastes like a Belgian golden ale: fruity Belgian yeast, pepper, lots of citrusy fruit. Don't get much of the basil or rice, but there is something different and smooth about this beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a finger of fine white head. Good retention with significant, thin lacing. Aroma is fruity, floral, apple, pear, rice, mango, basil. Flavor is fruity, peach, pear, mildly herbal finish, hints of alcohol and bitter aftertaste. Moderately fruity, sweet, and drinkable, even more so as it warms and gets smoother. Herbal tones really comes out as it warms. Moderate carbonation, medium body, crisp texture, and mildly warm and astringent finish. A very pleasant tripel, tasty and fruity.
