Commercial Description:
Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

750 from Tony’s. Nose is decent, nice yeast and spices. Flavor, well, it’s kind of everywhere - first a big hit of orange peel and wit spices, then pleasant yeasty Tripel goodness, then a boozy sweet peaches and cream finish. I wasnt a big fan of this one.

(Draught) Poured orange and cloudy with medium sized, long lasting and white head. Aroma of sweetness, honey and lightly hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Tasted of hops, pine, fruitiness, sweetness and bitterness. Hops and pine in aftertaste.

bottle poured a golden amber in color with a covering of white foam and steady heavy carbonation. aroma has heavy yeast, light spices, some herbs, and light hops. mouth feel is prickly from the carbonation frothing up an otherwise thin mouth feel. flavor hits off with hefty yeast, basil, pepper, and has some light rich fruit. there is a little bite to this and it does have lots of interesting flavors for the style.

Pours a deep gold color, with a nice fluffy white head, nice lacing. Smells of sweet citrus fruits, candy sugar, and mild spices. The flavor is more on the fruity sweet side than the candy sugar sweet side, although it is there somewhat. Lots of sticky sweet fruits like plums or peaches in there. Nice full body for a tripel, and not overlyboring like most tripels. Well done.

Had a goblet from the tap at Jimmy’s No. 43 in NYC. Poured a lovely amber-gold, just a bit hazy, with a lingering pure white head. Nose of spice and yeast. Flavor is deep, a touch sour on the front, then complex with some fruitiness to go with sweet caramel and maple syrup. Decent alcohol character, enough to warm the mouth and add complexity to the flavor. Nice bitterness in the end. Good beer.

Bottle @ HjHansen, Odense. Pours hazy orange with a creamy lasting white head and lacings. Very complex and inviting nose and taste of yeast, orange, hops and coriander. Full bodied. Warmth from alcohol. Nice

Bottle. High and long lasting creamy white head. Hazy orange body. Powerful grapefruit pine alcohol hops aroma. Lemon coriander grapefruit flavor with a dry and dusty note that I cannot quite figure out. Not unpleasant though. Alcohol level seems just right. Low carbonation, long and complex bitter aftertaste.

Cloudy orange with a lasting white head. Strong and complex phenolic and spicy aroma, with citrus and pineapple notes. Sweetish spicy flavour with herbal hop notes and a little bitterness, some yeast and warming alcohol. Really complex and delicious
