COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

Golden in color with a large airy head. Aroma is yeast, citrus and lots of basil. Nice flavors. The basil is a nice addition which add a lightness of body to the Tripel.

750ml bottle. Hazy amber orange with a light beige head. Aroma of herbs, honey, sweet caramel and spice. Flavor is caramel malt, herbs, zesty spice and light lemon. Medium body with a soft, smooth mouth feel. Decent beer but a bit sweet and not sure I like the basil character.

Nice spice aroma, something else was there but I couldn’t pick it. Loved the rice addition. Well done, nice alrounder.

From bottle to small snifter. Pours with a creamy, durable head. The light colored body has a light haze. Excellent looks. Aroma: bretty and fruity Flavor: less bretty and fruity; lightly tart; lightly sweet too Feel: near perfect, with smooth carbonation and a near medium body. O: slight wild and distinctly flavored tripel.

Cloudy darker orange pour huge head. Aroma of honey, citrus, apples, sake. Tastes like honey, wheat, rice hard liquor. Basil is only slight. Malt bomb and hard alcohol flavors overwhelm this one. Mid heavy palate strong carb. Back to the drawing board on this one. Not enough yeast flavors and ends up resembling an overworked malt liquor.

Amber in color, hazy with a light white head. Super tripel flavor and awesome finish. This is a terrific Belgian beer.

Refreshing sweet with a mild bitter finish. Tripels arn’t my thing. Good for one try.

750 ml. bottle. Thanks to my Summer Secret Santa! Pours a cloudy golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of spice, fruit, and malt. Taste is malt, yeast, spice, citrus, and grass. A bit different, but very drinkable.
