Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

Pours a very hazy gold. Nose of spices, lemon zest. Taste of some caramel, touch of bitterness - but overall not great for me. Not my favorite style, either. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep, hazy gold pour with thick white head. Sweet aroma with light spice notes. Quite sweet through the finish. Slight spice. Not enough carbonation to cut the sweetness. Still enjoyable.

On tap at Parry's. Orange gold body with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Smells of yeast and a bit of sour. Tastes bready. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with full head. Aromas of bananas, apples, toasted rice and malts, and hint of copper. Flavors are similar with more pronounced copper; and a fruity, light bitter and spicy finish. Very nice.

Pours a clear hold with a fat two fingers of frothy white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim and no head. Nose is spice, pepper, candy sugar. Taste is sweet and slightly spicy, coriander and grass. Full bodied and sticky, with a spicy finish. Not really what I was expecting and not really what I would characterise as a tripel - not dry and light the way I’d expect, but instead sweet and tending to heavy. A nice beer, no doubt, but a bit more of a Belgian strong ale, than a tripel.

Big inviting yeasty nose. Opaque orange color with a foamy head. Yeast agogo right of the bat in the taste. nice sour tinge with spices. Leaves a slight bitter orange peel after taste. Not getting the basil. Excellent brew.

Small lasting foamy white head atop a cloudy deep golden body. Nose of orange, nail polish and vanilla. Very estery. Good lemon zest and lasting citrus finish. Good. Bottle from Metro Liquor University Heights.

Review done up a tree in my backyard. Looks like a belgian beer. Taste like a beer....... Belgian beer. My foot hurts after breaking through a board on my chair that I used to climb this tree. Don’t taste any of the rice or basil. Good beer nothing more to say. Now how do I get out of tree.
