COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

Wet horse blanket yeasty smell you would expect from a Belgian style. Spicy yet still smooth delicious finish that fades so nicely.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2009 courtesy of ibrew2or3 Pours hazy golden with thick white head. Aroma spicy, fruity and yeasty. Taste, floral hops, thick mouthfeel with very faint notes of the basil herb. Very smooth and light, drinks like a saison. Re-rate 4/14/2009, courtesy of Alan. Picked up a much nice nose and taste of basil and sweet rice.Tons of good spices, very herbal with light notes of citrus.

Flaske: Fantastisk flot trippel.

750ml bottle. really excited to see a new one on the shelf. i always have a good experience with these folks. a lightly hazy gold under a large, fluffy foam white head. aroma of sweetened cereal, marshmallow, vanilla, a hint of tropical pineapple. palate is smooth and juicy rather than sharply carbonated. a bit of pineapple and red apple juice in flavor with some fresh green hops that are noticeable throughout. i’m struggling to find any basil though unless i’m confusing it with the herbal green hoppiness. overall, it’s a very fine tripel. there’s no residual sweetness and no annoying foamy sharp carbonation. a light body and a moderately dry finish.

Im Geruch sehr angenehm hefig, stark aprikosig, lecker. Süß und aprikosig einsteigend. Mittig honigartig und hefig, bitter und gewürzt. Sehr ausgewogen und bekömmlich, honigartig und wärmend ablaufend. Excellent!

On tap at Parry's. Orange gold body with a thin head that dissipates quickly. Smells of yeast and a bit of sour. Tastes bready. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big hazy golden color with a large fluffy white head... aroma is def belgian with big notes of basil tea like aroma... not the alcohol kick I expected... creamy body good medium to medium full... good light airy flavor bc of the basil not heavy... kind of like a good basil risotto in liquid form...
