Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

Pours clear gold/amber with nice fluffy white head. Aroma of sweet ripe green apple, slight caramel and spiciness. Fluffy carbonated mouthfeel. Starts with a bite of spiciness and citrus bite on the tip of the tongue, develops into light sweetness of ripe fruits with some grassy hop and a prickly spice. Peppery finish with only a little heat from the alcohol. Really nice, easy and flavorful Wierd note: tried this with a peanut butter chocolate cookie with no flavors in common, and it created an amazing synergistic pariing. Brought out a whole different spicy note that wasn’t in either the beer or the cookie.

belgian candy sugar flavor with a hazy golden colour, in UK. hahaha. Thin white head with a watery minerally appearance. Adjectives. Its quite sweet tasting for me to like it too much, esp. as far as beer goes. I guess most of the high scores are from sugar loving America!

Gold pour, small white head. Amazing banana aroma with notes of cloves, pepper, and yeast. Intense flavor, similar, with hints of what I want to say is Hibiscus but is probably something else. A damn good trip.

Bottle shared, thanks Will. Rich apricot esters, marmalade, very saison-like funkness, floral and herbal notes, fairly dry finish, alcohol well hidden. Pretty solid stuff, very Belgian, they did pretty well for such an unusual style in the States.
