Our Summer seasonal, Trade Winds Tripel is a Belgian-style Golden Ale with a Southeast Asian twist. Instead of using candi sugar (typical for such a beer), we use rice in the mash to lighten the body and increase the gravity, and spice with Thai Basil. The result is an aromatic, digestible and complex beer made for a lazy summer evening. (ABV: 8%, IBU: 25, SRM: 5, Release: Summer, Format: 750 mL bottles)

Bottle. Poured a hazy medium orange with a huge white fizzy head that was mostly diminishing and had great lacing. The aroma was quite strong with the odor of a soapy yeast, a mild herbal hop and straw malts with a hint of fruitiness. It tasted mildly sweet and acidic from the start and had a strong yeasty finish which had a hint of spiciness and a little taste of citrus with the flavor lasting an average amount of time. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery yet dry in texture with a nice lively carbonation. Overall a very nice tasting tripel.

Gold pour, small white head. Amazing banana aroma with notes of cloves, pepper, and yeast. Intense flavor, similar, with hints of what I want to say is Hibiscus but is probably something else. A damn good trip.

Bottle shared, thanks Will. Rich apricot esters, marmalade, very saison-like funkness, floral and herbal notes, fairly dry finish, alcohol well hidden. Pretty solid stuff, very Belgian, they did pretty well for such an unusual style in the States.

Bottle shared along the old (now underground) river in Koenji. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy foam. Wonderful light farmhouse Belgian nose with light apricot and stone fruit esters from the yeast and a bit of koji. Feels light on the palate, with good carbonation and a well-rounded slight softness from the rice. Nice lemony, grassy finish with some light bitterness...hides the abv magically. Really nice tripel / super saison hybrid.

Draft at the source on 6/26/2016. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of banana, pear, spice, and yeast. Taste is similar to nose, with some subtle basil notes coming through. Good.

Clear golden orange pour with a dense lasting white head. Aroma is candi sugar, bready, yeasty and clove. Taste follows. Didnt get any basil that I was hoping for. Dry finish. Light body. Standard tripel.

Clear, gold. Excellent aroma, malty, esteric, lots of banana and chewing gum. Fermented fruit jammy flavor, modest bittering, fairly sweet. Satisfying mouthfeel. Lightly bitter and fermented finish. On tap, Just Tapd, Warner Robins.

Hazy dark gold pour with a decent white head. Aroma of spicy basil, citrus, fruity esters. Has a crisp, fruity, spicy flavor, not too sweet. Very refreshing and tasty, would repeat.
