COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tripel Tonnellerie is a 100% barrel fermented version of a Belgian Abbey Tripel. The base beer carries a classically clean maltiness, balanced by a fruity aroma and a dry, spicy mouthfeel. Extended fermentation in oak barrels inoculated with wild yeast allowed the beer to develop the rustic, earthy tones of a classic countryside biere de garde resulting in a uniquely flavorful beer, suitable for beer and wine lovers alike.

(750ml bottle) clear, clean, bright gold-orange with a long-lasting creamy white head and its effervescent in the glass. Nose of golden raisin, tropical fruit, papaya and mango, just the right amount of brett to add funky character, cream and spice. Taste is clean, alcohol, moderately sweet tripel, peppercorns, spices, light earth from the brett but not overpowering, moderate amount of effervescence in the body. The retronasal taste is among the best of any beer I can recall in a while. Sweeter than your average tripel, but almost enough spice to balance it out. It’s not dry and super earthy like a Westmalle, and I’m perfectly ok with that.

Straw color pour with bright white head. Nose a bit funky with lemon, grass, and yeast. Taste follows the nose with some tartness. Seems all over the place. Super thin and fairly dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle via trade. Pours a hazed straw color with a white head. Aromas of must, citrus, oak and funk. Perhaps some white wine. Taste is lightly bitter, lightly tart and off dry. Flavors of funky oak, citrus, cobwebs. Pretty drying. Not a classic tripel in any sense, but still pretty refined and unique. Finished with a slight pucker and drying bitterness. Good brew.

750, capped. Thanks, A! Pours a cloudy pale amber with a loose white head. Big sticky sweet nose, lots of green apple, along with sweet cream, powdered sugar, and light pastry. Sticky thick body with soft carb. Powdered sugar, pastry, sweet cream, and green apple on the mid palate. Long sticky sweet finish.

Capped 750 from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours moderate orange gold with a transient white head. Aroma is a little arm pit, bit of spice, arguably fruity esters. Med body or better. Flavor is moderate barnyard, with some astringent oak. Spice notes. Finishing decently barnyard and very dry. Pepper seems to pop up after awhile. Interesting stuff.
