750 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours an opaque black color with a clumpy khaki head that has fair retention and some thin lacing. The aroma is moderately strong with Belgian yeast, dark fruits and molasses. The flavor is also very molasses forward with that being the first taste sensation eventually giving way to burnt toast and coffee grounds. Very sweet with a bit of warm alcohol. The palate was uneven and starting thin then building to a full and malty conclusion. The finish was short and dry with some cocoa. Overall: Very interesting, as most Rue beers are, but not my favorite from them.

Bottle. Very dark brown/black with a couple fingers of head that disappeared quickly to leave nice brussels lace. Dark chocolate taste with the booze coming through, though very well balanced. Also hints of sugar and dark fruits. I had planned to share while watching football, but I just couldnt.

Expensive (14,97$ for 750 ml) but surely not a deception for an Imperial stout lover like me, as it clearly reminds me of this style. Chocolaty, coffeish and caramelish domination with a pretty striking bitterness to balance it all. Pecans are pretty subtle and so are the fruits. A bit heavy, a real sipper, but a decent one.

Cracked open on Christmas Day and shared with some fellow beer drinkers in the family. All around intense and full of cocoa. Dark, full bodied, nice carbonation, strong aroma and flavors. This has a mixture of flavors that I’ve never experienced before, so the change in pace was welcomed. Unique and satisfying. Damn good brew.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, beige head. Excellent retention. Both the aroma and flavor are chocolaty and nutty with a whisper of acidity. Full-bodied and oily with dancing carbonation. Sweet-tart finish - the tartness outlasts and lingers. Kudos to smith4498 for sharing this excellent bottle of beer!

750ml bottle. Pours dark brown with small tan head around the rim but that faded away in about 15min. Nose of nutmeg, cinnamon, raisin, molasses, and tar. Flavors of raisin, tobacco, brown sugar. A sweet residual sugar finish with warming alcohol. Body is a bit thin and silky, low carbonation. A real tasty bel strong.

Dark brown pour, hazy, opaque with a nice cocoa head, nice lacing about the glass... Aroma is dominated by cocoa with a touch of nuttiness over a mildly fruity underlying note... Flavor is quite complex with the cocoa nibs and pecans taking stage over some spicy winter spices and belgian yeast... Boozy, warming, awesome winter ale...

Pours deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Mocha head quickly recedes to wisps on surface. Cocoa and nut aromas. Sweet pecans upfront turning to rum-soaked pit fruit and chocolate in the finish.

Dark brown with a cocoa colored head. Aroma is rich and darkly fruited with a slight cherry sourness and dirty sugar notes. Taste is all of that, and the richness of a chocolate liqueur, with toasted nuts, toffee, and some sourness into the finish. Alcohol is there, but hidden well enough for 12%. $12.69/750ml
