COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The primary component of our “White Oak” ale is a 100% barrel aged wheat wine that we affectionately refer to as “White Oak Sap.” Essentially a “summer” barley-wine style ale, but made with a wheat heavy grain base, White Oak Sap is aged in used bourbon barrels for nearly a year and comes out rich in flavors of coconut, honey, caramel and vanilla. To compliment the already rich flavors of the beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name.

Bottle shared by madbeerbaron. Thanks ben. First off, this bottle was harder to open than the punch tops on miller cans. We were considering breaking out the chainsaw. But, totally worth it. This beer was like a waffle cone dipped in white chocolate. Holy sweetness batman. Im glad there was a decent crew at this tasting otherwise this beer would have gone to waste. Plan on splitting this at least 3 ways. Regardless, i want moar!

Bottle shared by madbeerbaron...thanks Ben! - Pours hazy amber with a thin white head. Nose is like vanilla ice cream, oak, and waffle cone. Taste is about the same--lots of heat, but still pretty smooth. Yep, it’s white chocolate. Thin and slick with minimal carbonation. I couldn’t drink this every day, and couldn’t drink much of it, but as a dessert beer this would be awesome.

750ml bottle shared by Ben, thanks man! First off, it took about 10 minutes to get the freaking wax off of this thing, please take a note from New Glarus on how to properly wax a bottle, anyway, pours a hazy orange amber color with a light off white head, the aroma is super sweet with a ton of vanilla and chocolate notes, honestly, nothing I’ve ever smelled before, the flavor has a distinct touch of a waffle cone drizzled with vanilla and chocolate, abv is hidden completely, doesn’t come across artificial to me, really liked it.

Pours a hazy light orange with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is oak, bourbon, coconut, citrus, guava, and caramel. Taste is white chocolate of course, coconut, citrus, heavy booze, vanilla, and oak. Pretty hot but definitely tasty. A solid barrel aged barleywine.

750ml courtesy of Ben. Excessively waxed, corked bottle. Mellow golden malt vanilla aroma. Sweet and viscous, vanilla sweetness. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Really unique, really sweet. Waffle tones. Really nails the vanilla waffle sweet dessert thing. Excellent beer.

Bottle from a generous trader. Pours hazy blonde with quickly dissipating white head. Nose is mostly artificial vanilla, coconut, white chocolate and honey. Taste is the same, but very boozy with birch sap, brown sugar, oak and maple syrup. Medium body. Finishes a hot and boozy. Disjointed. A bit of a mess in my opinion. Probably okay if you are drinking a couple ounces at a tasting. However, I couldn’t drink most of this and I had no problem drinking an entire bottle of Black Tuesday.

Thanks Jazz for sharing! Pours a very hazy/cloudy dark copper color with lots of sediment and virtually no head. Aroma is very stringent, hot, with hints of roasted chocolate and vanilla. "White chocolate" is very apparent in taste, with strong roasted chocolate and vanilla notes. Moderate body and creamy mouthfeel. Lasting chocolate notes in the finish. Phenomenal beer!

750ml Bottle in a tulip. Pours Cloudy golden with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of Oak, vanilla, light chocolate, wheat and caramel malts, and light bitterness. Flavor the same with an incredible blend of everything. Smooth texture. An incredible beer.
