4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 PhillyCraft (2119) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Bottle shared first night of BW sess. Aroma is perfect, straight up melted white chocolate in a bottle. Taste is white chocolate, coconut shavings, oak butter, sweet malt and vanilla cream. Some bourbon came out as it got warmed, wasn’t overpowering. Crazy smooth for 14 percent with an enjoyable sweetness, it was never cloying. If this doesn’t pair well with some choc cake, I don’t know what does. Great dessert beer!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DavoleBomb (1467) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 25, 2013
Poured into a perfect pint.
3.5 A: Moderately hazed yellow orange color. Two fingers of foamy white head. Retention is decent given the ABV, but no lacing is left.
4.5 S: Big, wonderful nose on this. The cacao nibs and vanilla beans stand out most prominently and the combination is infinitely pleasant. The bourbon is complementary and adds an earthy leather component and a big of light fruit. The base is actually pretty hard to find after the nibs, beans, and barrel, but if you sniff hard enough you’ll find neutral wheat, apple, apricot, sugar, and toffee. Booze is well hidden.
4.0 T: I don’t really know what to make of the taste. It’s closer to an 8% brew in both potency of flavor and booze. The vanilla and cacoa are particularly less aggressive in the taste, which isn’t to say you’ll have trouble finding them. The bourbon comes through stronger, but it still isn’t a dominant player. Leather, earthy, melon, booze, oak. The base, however, does come through pretty well. Lots of wheat, light fruits, some toffee, and a surprising amount of spiciness. Booze is very well hidden.
4.0 M: Heavier medium body, not the typical so-heavy-you-need-a-fork high ABV Bruery body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy and quite smooth.
4.0 D: This may be the only Bruery beer ever made that is both super high in ABV and not diabetes-inducingly sweet (which is why a Bruery beer is usually the only option if that itch needs to be scratched). That said, this is far too drinkable. You don’t have to chew it and you don’t have to wince from the booze tinge. It’s pretty tasty and definitely worth a try. Does it taste much like actual white chocolate? No, not really, but I’m thrilled about that since white chocolate doesn’t do much for me anyway.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Marheb (1214) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 22, 2013
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 drowland (4999) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - MAY 20, 2013
The 100th rating of this beer... and it’s a doozy - sorry, gents. 5/15/13. 750mL bottle shared at the BA Roosevelt release by Nathan. Thanks! The aroma is a touch of white chocolate, vanilla, and coconut, but mostly booze and nail polish remover. Super sweet flavor, lots of corn, with some sweet vanilla, white chocolate, sugar, and more corn, with a touch of sour. Not good.

750ml bottle pours bright orange pour light tan head. Bourbon oak vanilla and white chocolate aroma. Great taste. White chocolate cookie taste. Once it warms the boozy bourbon comes out but still big chocolate coconut and vanilla.

Solid aroma and basic appearance but a string taste of true white chocolate and mild but lingering mouthfeel.

Bottle @ S&B#2. Pours clear golden amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is white chocolate, honey, vanilla, wheat, oak, cocoa, tangerine, hops, bourbon and booze. Taste is near cloyingly sweet. Body is light+, texture is syrupy and sticky, carbonation is soft.
Finishes quite boozy dry with white chocolate and hops in the late finish.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Vaiz (2708) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2013
Bottle @ ZeeBra Extreme Beer Festival 2013. Hazy orange pour. Aroma full of white chocolate, artificial sweet candy with cacao. Flavor is sweet, too creamy, loads of white chocolate with whipped cream. Not my beer, but definitely true to its name.
