The primary component of our “White Oak” ale is a 100% barrel aged wheat wine that we affectionately refer to as “White Oak Sap.” Essentially a “summer” barley-wine style ale, but made with a wheat heavy grain base, White Oak Sap is aged in used bourbon barrels for nearly a year and comes out rich in flavors of coconut, honey, caramel and vanilla. To compliment the already rich flavors of the beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name.

Pours a hazy gold with a white head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of bourbon, vanilla, and some wheat and malt. The flavor is rich malt and bourbon up front with a sweet vanilla and chocolate finish over a heavy body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy ambercolor with ivory foam. Big vanilla bean, white chocolate, pitfruit, spicy caramel aromas. Medium body with soft co2. Spicy pit fruit, vanilla, toasted caramel flavors with a warming spicy bitter finish---- boozy sweet___not bad.

Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy straw hue with creamy white head. Suspended dark particles. Aroma is vanilla, cocoa, ethanol, oak. Mouthfeel is ok with a medi body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet with an ethanol finish. Overall this is a nice brew.

Bottle. Pours vanilla, chocolate, very sweet, the vanilla and chocolate meld together to mix into a really nice sweet white chocolate flavor. Taste is medium carbonation, medium to full bodied, really interesting....lots of flavor, very rich. Overall, really good.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours hazy light orange. Nose barrel funk, then white chocolate if I think about it. Taste some tart up front, not sure that is supposed to be there, then smoother malt and some of the white chocolate flavor. Some mild fruit flavor as well. Mid palate some barrel. Minimal bitterness on the finish. Nice mouth feel.

Tap at the bruery, 2014. Aroma is sweet booze and oak. Taste is velvety smooth sweet malt and bourbon, well done even though I despise white chocolate

Bottle shared at Darkness day. Pours golden color. Can smell the white chocolate along with some bourbon. Taste the strong bourbon flavor and pick up the white chocolate at the end. Really good.

Pours an orange gold color with a tiny white head. The aroma is very sweet with bourbon, chocolate, and vanilla. Really wonderful on the nose. On the palate there is an odd tartness that underscores and really big sweet white chocolate flavor. This wasn't a bottle from the infected batch (2013) but there is definitely a tinge of sour apple on the lips afterwards. I know the 2014 on draft didn't have this issue. Overall good, but quality control has been tough here. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
