COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The primary component of our “White Oak” ale is a 100% barrel aged wheat wine that we affectionately refer to as “White Oak Sap.” Essentially a “summer” barley-wine style ale, but made with a wheat heavy grain base, White Oak Sap is aged in used bourbon barrels for nearly a year and comes out rich in flavors of coconut, honey, caramel and vanilla. To compliment the already rich flavors of the beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name.

Caramel orange in color... Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, caramel sweetness... Flavor is caramel, vanilla, chocolate... Does taste a little like white chocolate, but does definitely have a fair amount of tartness throughout... Not terribly unpleasant, infection prolly got tamed down by the abv... Solid, but was expecting more ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013 bottle, picked up late this year -- after the infection news broke. Is it infected? I can’t say for sure as I never tried the 2012. It does finish lightly tart, but if you’re a sour beer drinker you wouldn’t really call it sour. I didn’t expect to like this and was impressed. Pours a light orange with a white head ring. Smell is big-time chocolate / white chocolate. Taste gives, you choco backed with fruit and that light tart note. Surprisingly drinkable at almost 15%. It’s a celebration kinda night and this was a great choice. Wanted to age this one but we truly enjoyed it right now.

Taste comprises white chocolate sliver, vanilla fudge, mellow, caramac, bourbon soaked wood, mellow fruits. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, dry finish. Nice drop - mellow, the booze is well hidden for 14 !

Bottle from the bruery store. Pours light yellow. Aroma of vanilla and booze. Taste has a weird tartness going on. Like on the way to sour but in that weird area still. Peanuts and vanilla as well

Bottle shared by oRos. Pours cloudy blonde with a short off-white head and a bourbon and vanilla aroma. There is a cider-like wheat flavor with some vanilla, lots of bourbon and a hint of white chocolate. Pretty sour. Is it supposed to be? Whatever, it’s pretty good.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with a white head. Chocolate sweetness, milk sugar, nilla wafer, and bourbon. Big and sweet and boozy. Not awful, but I can’t imagine ever wanting more than a few ounces of this.
