4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2013 2012 vintage. Pours a ’dingy’ orange, disappearing head. Aroma is its strongest attribute. So unique! I really do get a white chocolate impression here. Sweet. Sugar. Dessert-like. Almost a frosted character. Overall hard to pin down. Flavor is also very unique. Never had anything quite like it. White chocolate for sure. Plenty of bourbon. Medium to full body. Soft and creamy. A bit too much hot alcohol which holds it back somewhat for me. Overall a quite complex and unique beer experience.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
25.4 oz bottle. Foggy orange brown with a ring of froth. Nose is big on the vanilla and cacao, the sweetness tempered by the wood and bourbon. Body thinnner than hoped for. The slight vinous tang tells me little buggers have been eating up the richness. Tasty enough though and at 14%+ i won’t care after a few glasses. Taste is buttery caramel, white wine, vanilla and bourbon.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
2013 bottle. Pours a hazy light orange color. Aroma has a nutty character, chocolate, cream, and sweet. Nutty, tart, sweet, chocolate, boozy....don’t really get the white chocolate character. Nothing offensive but fairly tart and sweet.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2014 Bottle share thanks to drewface. Aroma of peanut butter. And chocolate. And fudge. Pretty complex. Taste is a bit sweet but has an underlying tartness. Flavor is completely opposite of the aroma. Not bad but not gr8
Rerate. Much better than the infected

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Blind Tiger with Brendan. Pours a hazy orange amber body with no head or lacing. Aroma is super hot bourbon and some mild vanilla in the back. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy with notes of bourbon alcohol up front dominating, followed by vanilla, oak, chocolate, honey and maple. The flavors actually worked somewhat together, however the overall booze-dominated character really crippled this for me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Golden has pour with white head. Chocolate and vanilla sweet aromas with some oak, bourbon and barley wine like tones. Flavor is sweet and has depth and some warmth, not surprising or such a big beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle shared by b3shine (more times since). Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. I had a different picture for this beer going in. The aroma is as advertised; wonderful white chocolate, vanilla, caramel, light cherry like fruits and some alcohol. The flavor is almost over the top sweet, but it works for this beer, White chocolate, vanilla, light cherry fruity notes, caramel, and sometimes comes off as boozy. I don’t mind sweeter beers, but would not want to have a full one of these myself.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Sampling session at Lefty’s place. Mild nose of light chocolate, vanilla, strained peaches, powdered sugar, and fumes. Medium straw color, no head. Sweet milky initial, with some tangy oranges and pineapple / mild sweetness in mid (wheat?), and the chocolate and vanilla drop out / finishes with a bit of alc. burn and mild fruity sweetness. Not really recognizable as a wheat wine. But full of marvelous flavors. Great.
