The primary component of our “White Oak” ale is a 100% barrel aged wheat wine that we affectionately refer to as “White Oak Sap.” Essentially a “summer” barley-wine style ale, but made with a wheat heavy grain base, White Oak Sap is aged in used bourbon barrels for nearly a year and comes out rich in flavors of coconut, honey, caramel and vanilla. To compliment the already rich flavors of the beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name.

Had a weird pretzely element to it that I wasn’t a fan of. The vanilla and chocolate didn’t come through against the overbearing bourbon and honey sweetness. Disappointed, would like to try again in a non-festival setting. EBF 2013.

Thanks cards04 for sharing. Murky orange body not much head at all. Odd but appealing aroma of white chocolate but also tart and oaky. Cereal and vanilla. Taste is oaky tart Touch of citrus grains. Touch of booze but abV well masked for the high abV.

Pours a dark honey colour. Aromas are insane. Lots of white chocolate, vanilla, honey, very decadent aromas. Flavours are sweet white chocolate, vanilla, honey, booze, and a sour finish.. Which I found odd but not unpleasant. It balances the sweetness nicely.

750 ml bottle with a thick white wax, dated 13 months go, received via trade, thanks Chad! Hazy orange appearance with a small white head that lingers. A bit darker on the second pour, more cloudy, some sediment. Aroma of white chocolate, vanilla, oak, lactose, light honey, white wine grapes, coconut, caramel malt, toffee and light alcohol. Similar flavor, syrupy and sweet with a hint of acidity. Full bodied with a thick feel, sometimes finishing a bit boozy. Good, but not quite what I was expecting. A nice sipper overall. Pairing: Ween - Chocolate and Cheese

This one has been on the wants for a long time. Excited to finally try it. Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is a mix of cocoa and vanilla, as expected. The flavor is really boozy but hidden in there are some great cocoa, vanilla, sugar, bourbon and oak notes. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Definitely a huge beer, but if you split it among a group of friends it is worth seeking out.

Amazing beer, definitely a special idea, with flawless execution. The name really says it all, if you have access to this beer try it for yourself, it’s definitely worth it. Reading reviews is not enough. The words are not enough.

Pours orange amber with a white head. Aroma of sweet chocolate (white), caramel, fudge, vanilla, dark sweet fruits and some sweet malts. The taste is sweet with a weak hoppy feel to it. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, caramel, fudge, tannin and some alcohol. Less sweet than expected but still a nice barley wine Fo sho.

Bottle @ Dangerous Bottleshares #11. Pours light hazy dark orange with a medium white head. Aromas of vanilla, white chocolate, raisins, caramel, fudge, malt, coconut, prunes, booze, grassy notes, ripe orange. Taste is sweet - expected it to be way sweeter though, white chocolate, fudge, vanilla, caramel, malt, dates, prunes, weak tannins, ripe apples, orange. Did sadly not live up to my expectations.

Bottle @ Dangerous Bottleshare 11.0. Thanks to rasmusott & vestergaard. Orangish pour with tiny lacings. Nose has loads of white chocolate, vanilla and some toffee. Taste has loads of vanilla, bourbon, boozy, light lingering tartness, white chocolate and a dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear, IPA-like amber with a big, frothy, short lasting, white head. Aroma is very sweet with vanilla and, guess what, white chocolate. And lots of it!! Raisins, caramel fudge, coco nut, prunes, booze. Taste is sweet, but not at all as sweet as expected. Slight tartness, tannins, wood, surprisingly dry, caramel sweetness. Weird taste, but still pretty good! Average carb and oily body.
